When i heardvyou needed a 4x4 to get there, I said it was “my kind of place” It was fantastic both in the settin and the fantastic crew. Utterly amazing.
The road was well marked with comforting signs along the way, steep in places but not too bad, although the end section definately needed a 4x4 .But wow! This place is so worth the effort. The views are totally stunning! We were met by a Louis, who showed us around and then later we had afternoon tea and homemade cakes, over looking the infinity pool we were thrilled to be joined by both types of toucan! The bird life is fantastic and our room had the most amazing view over the far reaching views but also directly looking onto one of the magical cecropia tress which all the birds love!! The room was very comfortable with a four poster bed and great bathroom with the most amazing complimentary hair products. . The Canadian owners, John and Maureen are absolutely delightful! We were fascinated by how they built the property and installed the hydo power system, their enthusiasm was infectious. They joined us for pre dinner drinks and apperetifs, a lovely personal touch. The delicious dinner was specially prepared and we had 3 courses for $30. The wine was also very reasonable priced. Once again we were treated to a stunning sunset surrounded by jungle noises and howler monkeys in the distance. In the morning we had the best breakfasts of our entire stay, simply yummy!!! It is beautiful just walking around absorbing the magical atmosphere surrounded by humming birds, butterflies and a real taste of the true Costa Rica.

Very romantic and private. Beautiful sunsets, ocean and green mountain views, hiking, drinks and great pool. This is an amazing remote 5-room hotel in a mountain jungle setting, you need a 4x4 to get there off the 243 highway, longitude and latitude for Google maps is 9.309196,-83.777718 a very small sign on North-side of the road, then a right turn down at 9.309429,-83.779363 straight on dirt road for about 4km. GOOGLE MAPS is WRONG BTW, this is correct. Once your there is no need to leave as the fresh local food the chef prepares is perfect and delicious. The owners are wonderful people from Canada originally and Maureen emailed us in advance to ask about all our food preference. I want to go back just to eat. I believe all three meals were included in the room price, breakfast for sure. I am still in Costa Rica while writing this and did not see my bill yet. We loved it.
