Impression d'usine à touristes

Posted Apr 29, 2015 on Hotels

Revisiting a special memory

Posted Mar 16, 2015 on Hotels
We were only 1 night at Villas Rio Mar, returning after 14 years to a place that had always held a special place in our hearts from a previous trip. Not much seemed to have changed, although the room did seem a bit tired (the furniture on the outer deck especially). As with all places in Costa Rica, English is spoken by the staff now. My preference would be to embrace the language of the country that you are visiting, to more fully engage in the experience. Dominical seemed to have changed too . . . having gathered all of the young people that were lost hippies, and should have been born back in the 60's. An interesting gathering place for the young and young-at-heart.

First night in Costa Rica

The pool was really nice as were the grounds. The cabanas were really unique with half of it being outside area. Really cool! Too bad. No A/C. Could have used it although there was fans. The final stretch of road to it was really really awful. Was really pretty there and quiet.

beau dehors, laid dedans

Posted Feb 10, 2015

A lot of pleasure to stay in Villas Rio Mar

Posted Dec 25, 2014
Pros: Very good restaurant, although prices are pretty close to USA, but breakfast is included. Menu was the same for each day, as in all restaurants there.
Cons: Add more space in rooms... Add minimal set of plates knifes, forks etc in the kitchen area to eat fruits.
Location: 1. Rafting 2. Zip-lining 3. Hikes in jungles to see waterfalls etc.
This was our first trip to Costa Rica - country with main income from tourism. We had a party of six people, two families for two rooms. All of us were pretty happy to stay there. All cabins are located in the well maintained garden of tropical plants. It looks like paradise.
