Nice quiet place
Lovely place to stay if you travel by car. Very quiet and friendly town close to Ljubljana. Walking distance from a few bars. There is Thai Spa, but it doesn't work on Sundays and Saturday evenings. The reception service is amazing. I have accidentally arrived at the same time with a group of 30 people who came for some event. The receptionist immediately gave me my key and after 15 minutes when I was going out she has already checked in all the group of 30. Bravo!

Tina on reception was friendly and welcoming, gave me plenty of useful local information, recommended a place to eat, where to park in Ljubljana. Andrej provided excellent service at the bar and always had a smile. Lovely buffet breakfast, overall a great stay.

Generally good - try to fulfill order conditions.
Staff is friendly, hotel in a good condition, well maintained. We booked 2 double rooms (with single large bed), and got 2 twin rooms. The receptionist said it is up to availability (not true, we ordered clearly double bed and paid few $$ extra for it). After negotiations, one of the rooms was changed, second we agreed to accept as twin, since it was only 1 person in it.

First impression of the hotel was really great comsidering the location, the 1st room i got was with terrible smell then i had to change it to a 2nd one which had the same problem, only the 3rd one was ok but with wide open windows so the receptionist had to bring the extra heater and i had to wait until the room was warm enough to relax.

Smelly and terrible
We were put in room 211, the first thing that we were greeted by was a very bad smell. We reported this to the reception and asked to change rooms, they did nothing to help the situation, we could not change rooms or get a refund, discount or anything. We couldn’t use the heather because It made the smell worst! So it was very cold because we had to open the window in order to get rid of the smell! As soon as we closed the window the smell came back (with or without heater on). The hotel is quite worn down, the rooms are small, the location is very far from everything and the breakfast was really poor. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

the stay was no amazing, the front desk clerk was indirect to our lack of air conditioning. The location of the hotel was strange as the mall next door was blocked from the Casino if you walking at night it could difficult. The breakfast was fine. Finally, the room needs updating.

The air conditing wasn’t working in my room, staff lied stating that entire hotel’s AC isn’t working, which surely wasn’t the case. And not sure how they rated this as 3star, not worth to be called. , rooms were not that great, flooring carpet looked worst than Midland trains. Breakfirst we just had a bread n cheese, as the chef left before bk closing time. Overall not worth, better to consider other places before you go for this. Cheers!

Nice hotel in the suburban area. Peaceful with some great views of the countryside... great if you drive for getting to the nearby city, as it is a significant distance from the border of the city center. Hotel staff and facilities are great. Nice amenities such as a/c and blow dryers. Single rooms are really quite very small but comfortable, tho overpriced for for the size in comparison. The worst thing I can say is that the carpet unfortunately looks extremely worn out and tattered in places and needs to be replaced but otherwise a great hotel.

Good place for the Money plus great staff fribbie!
Good place for the Money. It is not as far from the capital if you have a car. Parking is plentiful and facility it is what you would expect for the location. However, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Night front desk Tina really makes you feel valuable and Alan at the morning bar service was great. Authentically interested in helping you and getting around and offering few great unknown tricks to make your trip around safe and cheaper (it was almost inside trading!). On the low side Breakfast needs improvement on the quality and type of service (when compared with other places) but was satisfying for what it was worth.

Very basic for the price- I expected more! The room was south facing, so like a sauna with the afternoon sun and the blind didn't close, so I was woken up at 4:30am. However, the staff were friendly and professional.

Great value for hotel outside of the city
Good, clean hotel not too far from airport and conveniently located for activities or meetings in/near Domzale. Breakfast was fine, the staff and service was friendly and great. For the price, a great value.

Nice hotel in a quiet area.

Contemporary spot on the outskirts of Domžale
First things first. With no city transport and taxi drivers refusing to take you from downtown Domžale as it's too short a run, you'll have to walk the 1.5km here – fine in nice weather, dreadful in pouring rain. Secondly the hotel. A lot of thought has been put into its design – on the drawing board. In practice, certain things need ironed out. In the single room at least, the fixed holder in the shower means the water sprays all over the bathroom. There was no soap in the shower, unless you count one of those thin sachets of liquid shampoo you can never open without biting into it. Few sockets in the bedroom. WiFi took a while to work. Breakfast was fine, only that, again, the design let everything down – a row of tables was placed right next to the serving area, meaning that everyone had to squeeze past seated diners to get to everything. Reception staff nice, bar staff great. A few alterations and this could be a really decent mid-range hotel – in a town with few other options.

I was here one night on business, but the hotel was nice and the staff were very helpful. It is far from the city centre, but the location suited my requirements. The hotel is within walking distance of a local town where there is a number of shops, which was very convenient.

Very nice place
This may not be for you IF, your intention is to be in Ljubijana. Taxi charged me $30 Euro, it is 10-15 minutes walk to the bus and it takes 30-40 minutes each way to Ljubijana. Other than that, it is a great place.

Overnight stay with an early flight
With a last minute reservation on expedia this hotel was very afordebal and provided transportation Upon landing on the airport I called the number provided within 20 minutes the shuttle bus was there to pick us up, the staff was wery feendly as a family owned hotel they made every efort to make us comferyable, do to an early flight we were not going ro be able to have brakfest at the hotel however the owner nd his family got up extra erly to make us fantastic brecfest to go meals that we were able to take with us nd were quite refreshing when we were on our plain. At first look you don't get to see all the grate cenery this hotel has to offer but once you are settled in you will have a lot of fun exploring everything this hotel has to offer in my opinion it compares as high as the ritz and rhe plaza hotel in the states. Thanks to the owner and his family for going above and beyond on making our stay a fantastic one.

Not in Ljubljana, but still good value for money
I have to confess that having done a search for budget hotels in Ljubljana I did not spot that this hotel is NOT in Ljubljana - it is in Domzale, 15km to the north. And by that stage there was no possibility of cancelling the booking. Having said that, the hotel is clean, comfortable, excellent value for money and with very friendly and helpful staff. You can get to Ljubljana with a 10-15 minute walk to the bus stop, buses every hour (to a strict timetable, which the hotel staff will print out for you) taking 25 minutes to Ljubljana rail station. The last bus back out leaves at 2300. Taxis will cost €18. There seems to be a shortage of cheap non-hostel accomodation in Ljubljana, so this might be a good option even for those who researched it a bit more carefully than I did.

I arrived at the airport to be greeted by the free transfer driver provided by the hotel, he politely asked us to wait outside the airport until he brought his vehicle round, after 45mins of waiting i decided to take a taxi to the hotel at a cost of £30euros. Once i arrived at the hotel i couldnt believe the location and setting, it is truly amazing scenery, the staff were nice and the cleanliness was fantastic. They even served beer at 0930 in the morning.To say my trip was based on a football trip the staff couldnt have been any better considering the amount of fans staying in the hotel. Well done Ambient hotel, it was a pleasure.

A 3 star (not 4) hotel with bad smell
Wrong address!! I copy pasted the address to my navigation in my mobile and this took me to the middle of Ljubljana, where there is a street with the same name. But the hotel is 44 km away from the address given by the site. The true address is in Domzale. 2 hours of my life spent looking for the right place... Hotel is OK, a bit expensive for the place and quality. Bad smell inside as there are Thai massages just next to the rooms.

Nice hotel somewhat close to airport
We chose this hotel to be able to be near the airport because our flight was very early in the morning. It was still 20 minutes away from the airport, but had plenty of parking and was closer than the capital. The people that worked at the hotel went above and beyond expectations and because we were leaving so early and not going to be able to get breakfast they packed us lunches. The rooms were simple and very small, but comfortable and very clean.

Ambient Hotel - reasonable, modern outside of city
The hotel is new, clean, quiet, has comfortable beds, but no drawers for storage or mirrow in the room. No room to keep much in toiletries in the room. Free internet, but weak signal, bring cable to plug in the room. The service people are good, but don't have automated wake-up calls, so one was late and one didn't happen at all. Breakfast if fine, though ends early. If you have a car it's great, and has free airport shuttles, though not to the train station. Overall, the price and other pluses far outweigh the minuses.

Hotel is far enough away from centre of Ljubljana to avoid getting in and out of the city. Convenient rail station within 15 minutes walk and cheap rail fares avoiding the problems of parking. Hotel location is very quiet and the hotal staff are very friendly and helpful and all speak good English. Staff happy to research places to visit for the best times and programmes. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Room is quiet and comfortable and any problems are quickly dealt with. Choice of restaurants nearby, within walking distance, avoiding the need for a car as the beer is cheap. To return to the area, would be most happy to stay at the same hotel again.

THis hotel was billed as near Ljubljana, Only if you consider the next city close...It was not easy to find nor was it convienant as a spot to visit the capital city from. The service and cleanliness was great, the breakfest fine. Cost ok.

Great little family hotel, friendly check in/check out, wonderful buffet breakfast. Hotel is new, very clean and very well maintained. Hotel is just outside of great city of Ljubljana, maybe 10-15 minutes with an easy motorway access. This location might not be very convenient if you do not have your own transportation but there are frequent buses and some train connections with the city. Front desk can also arrange for taxi (preferred in order to get fair pricing). Overall I have been very satisfied and I will definitely return when I am back in Ljubljana area.

This hotel was great. It is a little ways outside of town, so I suggest having a car... besides, Slovenia is so much nicer by car. You will definitely enjoy it more. The hotel has impeccably well kept grounds. They have a nice lounge area out back with a nice stream running along side it. They have free internet in the rooms. The bathrooms are perfect. The bed was comfortable. They have TV with 3 English channels. They have a massage service on the 1st floor, and it is totally worth it. If you just flew in, or drove for days like I did, the massage was perfect and worth the money. For a nice back massage it was around 1E per minute or so, and it was worth it. Totally worth it. If I'm ever in Slovenia again, I'll be here. You can find me out back with a cold beer.
