Ideal hotel if you have food allergies.Posted Jul 30, 2017
Pros: Quality rooms, menu for those with allergies or dietary needs, helpful staff with excellent English.
Location: Fantastic central location.
My wife has a gluten allergy and is very ill even if there is just slight contamination. The hotel staff made the restaurant aware and they took special care of her each time she entered the restaurant. The menu lists meals for allergies and diets, just like in Europe. We did not expect this in China, brilliant. They even made gluten free Bread each day for her, but if you also have a lupin flower allergy it's wise to check if it is ok for you still. Outside the meals the hotel is elegant and grand and very handy for getting to the Forbidden city and Tianamen square are only 15 mins direct walk on the same road. the staff speak good English and are extremely helpful. If you can afford it take the hotel airport pick up and you are met at the plane entrance and escorted through the airport. If you want a high quality and friendly hotel this is the one to choose.

Pros: The room is really spacious and hotel decorations really created a at home ambient
Cons: Front desk reception staffs could be more caring of the guests concern.
Location: Forbidden City, Tiannanmen square, National Museum, Major shopping Centers, Restaurants, Night Market.
This hotel location is good, within a walking distance to the Tiannanmen and Forbidden City, very close to many Wangfujing Shopping Malls at Dong Chen district, at night, Neon light, close street reserved for pedestrians, many night-stands of variety of foods and merchandise are major attractions for foreign as well as Chinese tourists.

Nice hotel convenient locationPosted Jul 19, 2017
There's no better location than this hotel. Walking distance to the forbidden city and to the shopping area. Located on the most historical road, the hotel is part of history itself. On that note, the hotel rooms do seem a tad bit old but the hotel staff is so nice. Be careful of tuk tuk drivers. They agreed to 40 RMB for two but when we arrived, he changed to 40 per person.

Pleasant stay although not overly luxurious, some amenities need to be refreshed, nevertheless, this hotel remain to be our favorite amongst most of the centrally located top hotels, will certainly return.

Disappointing after Raffles left as operatorPosted Jun 5, 2017
Seems the new Nuo brand is preparing for a renovation and not investing money into this hotel. The hotel is using furniture and accessories left from the Raffles and applied Nuo stickers over Raffles logos. This was disappointing for 5 star hotel. We also paid for lounge access which was not worth the money as there was no real food or options and they also charged RMB 8 per paper to print which is usually free for a few pages at other lounges when you pay. Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful Location is great for sightseeing Rooms were large General Manager was nice and explained that there will be changes soon Clean Cons: Poor lounge, with same snacks each day and very little selection Rooms were tired with uncomfortable beds and only providing one large towel for 2 people Food quality was not great and breakfast was disappointing with not so fresh items and cold food. Reusing old Raffles equipment Gym run down with no music or cold bottled water Staff come at 8am to clean rooms The cost for the room and lounge were not worth the money and needs a lot of work and investment to become a true 5 star hotel. The GM and staff were nice and helpful but a after 4 days a big difference in a negative way from the Raffles.

LOvely in every wayPosted May 2, 2017 on Hotels
--The hotel itself is old and stately--true elegance. The room was big and comfortable, although it did need just a tiny bit of cosmetic work. The location is fantastic; we didn't need to take the subway at all--but the icing on the cake was the staff---from the moment we arrived until the door man put us into the cab to leave, our every need was attended to, every question was graciously and articulately answered. All in all, this was one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed in

Classy and Elegent in an Amazing LocationPosted Apr 17, 2017
This hotel is over 100 years old and boasts amazing history. It's located walking distance from Wangfujing Street and Tian'anmen Square. The hotel staff is all very kind and helpful. They have an amazing breakfast and will accommodate a vegan diet at any restaurant on the premises. It's connected to the hotel next door on the 2nd floor and it's like walk through a museum to get to the next door lobby. Truly a delightful stay with nice in room touches.

The hotel is strategically located close to the Tienamen square, Wangfujing market, and the metro. Staff are very friendly, we got upgraded to a room suite which was really a big plus.
