The Best Place to Stay in Door County.

Posted Sep 14, 2015
Pros: We love the location of the resort. It's also a very nice place to stay as a couple in the winter.
Cons: The free breakfast used to be better quality and offer more of a variety.
The Newport Resort is always our place to stay when we visit Door County. The Staff is very friendly and professional. The resort is always clean and comfortable. We love the pool area.

Clean, but a bit dated

Posted Sep 10, 2015
Pros: Having a suite with a kitchen
Cons: Bit dated (but clean) and needs updated. Things like toilets were old and didn't flush great and the fixtures were older.
Location: East to get to 42 to get to a lot of the attractions along 42 - like orchards, wineries, shopping and restaurants.
Pros: -2 BA / 2BA Suite was a nice options is nice, gives some privacy and space and if you happen to cook, there is a kitchen (we just stored wine, beer, soda and water in the fridge) -Clean and well taken care of -Big balcony -Maintenance was very responsive when we had an issue - he showed up in 2-3 minutes. -Fireplace (It was hot, so didn't need it - but would be nice in the fall/winter) -Big parking lot - never had an issue finding a spot on a sold out weekend. Cons: -Bit Dated - which keeps it a 3 star -Bedrooms are small - particularly #2, was really tight. I don't know if 2 adults with suitcases would fit. The night stands are only on one side of the bed. -Window units for air conditioning - in main living are, with a fan in the wall for BR 2 and another unit by the night stand for window 1. Not ideal - I prefer central, another reason it is still a 3 star. Pro or Con -Being suites - LOTS of kids (we were there over labor day weekend) which means the breakfast area and pool area was really noisy. This could be a "Pro" if you have kids meaning it is very kid friendly or a "Con" if you don't -Not very "Quaint" or has "Character" which seems to be what a lot of places in the area feature, this would depend on what you are looking for.

Room 203 TOO HOT

Posted Sep 7, 2015
We recently stayed in Room 203. The room was very uncomfortable as there is only one air conditioner unit working in the entire condo. It was like a sauna in the family room, dinette, kitchen, 1st bathroom and 1st bedroom. We told three different people about it at the front desk, and nobody cared. They said okay we'll see if the maintenance guy can look at it, but it wasn't looked at. When we told someone else, she said okay I will make note of it. That's great that she is going to make note of it, but is it going to get fixed? Apparently, it doesn't ever get fixed. It was super uncomfortable to have the room that hot with 5 people especially considering we have very young children. Luckily, we could go to the kids play area or the pool where it was cooler. We even felt better driving around in our car with the air conditioner on. The breakfast staff is nice and attentive, however, the selection of food is really not great. The hotel charges quite a bit, but they don't continue to improve it or invest more to make people's stay better.

First timers - great place to stay!

Posted Sep 5, 2015
Pros: Two rooms in our suite.
Cons: We do not use housekeeping everyday and they gave us a bundle of towels each day. Kind of a waste - I would change the policy to "towels on demand".
Location: Restaurants in the area were kind of spendy for what you got and the shops all closed at 5 - nothing to do in the evenings.
We were first timers to Door County and the Newport Resort was centrally located to the activities we had planned. Great rooms, nice amenities, friendly staff.

Comfortable and affordable resort

Posted Aug 24, 2015
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Newport Resort. We liked the layout of the suite. It was very comfortable and clean. Location was ideal in Egg Harbor not on main road but just a block or two from HW 42 so it was nice and quiet. Next time we would go for 2 bedrooms as we needed more space there. Otherwise we were very satisfied.

Perfect location

The rooms were nice, staff was great, conveniently located. It was a girls weekend so we didn't stay in the room much but found the breakfast an added bonus.
