Pros: The hotel was well laid out, the service was all one could wish.
Cons: Nothing
Location: The hotel was on the A37 about 8 miles from Dorchester so was isolated in some respects but the parking was excellent.
This hotel was built & run by a family in memory of their father.

Very comfortable contempory hotel

Posted May 9, 2015
Pros: Quiet, clean and comfortable rooms. Good location for touring. Friendly helpful staff.
Cons: The outside appearance and approach. Beds are comfortable but the pillows were a little hard and lumpy.
Location: Handy for the Dorset coast and touring the downs.
We booked this hotel to act as a base for touring the Dorset and East Devon coast. The property is set back from the road, close to a sporting complex and commands panoramic views over the Dorset Downs. The appearance of the car park and approach does not make a great first impression and looks more like a truck stop than and car park. However, don't be put off as the rest of the hotel is much better. Once inside, the hotel is quite exclusive with only just over 30 rooms and is in the contempory style with a light and airy feel to public areas and rooms. Our party reserved two double rooms and both were of a good size, warm, comfortable and finished to a very high standard. Sound insulation was also very good and virtually no noise as detectable from other rooms. The location is quite isolated so you will either need to plan for dining before arrival or opt for eating in the hotel restaurant. The food on offer is good, though the menu is a little limited. Breakfast for us was a standard hot and cold buffet with options for specific requests if required. On the whole a very good find and we would definitely stay again

No Complaints

Posted Feb 22, 2015
Pros: Comfortable rooms with equally comfortable beds. The breakfasts were good with both a continental breakfast bar, and the full English.
Cons: The fact that it is a modern hotel did for me render the place a little soulless with long white corridors with room doors leading off.
Location: Located roughly midway between Yeovil and Dorchester it is well located for touring the area.
As others have already mentioned the hotel is really stuck out in the middle of nowhere - albeit on a main road. It is well appointed and looked after, and if you are looking for a modern hotel it will not disappoint. No gripes or complaints, though we did get locked out of our room twice as the electronic 'key' refused to open the room door.

Clean functional hotel

Posted Aug 23, 2013
Pros: Clean and functional
Cons: Breakfast
Location: Located off a main road and a long way from any other civilisation. We were heading to West Bay which was 21 miles away.
The hotel is a long way from the nearest Towns and so you are almost locked in to eating at the hotel. The dinner was good but rather expensive and with few other guests in the hotel at the time there was very little atmosphere in the dining room. The hotel itself was very clean and we had a good nights sleep there. Breakfast was full English buffet but badly presented and not particularly good quality and so this was the biggest disappointment in our stay.
