Pros: Ambience and public rooms were welcoming and comfortable.
Location: We visited Dorchester Maison Castle a good walk but worth the views and healthy experience. Also Corf Castle was a little gem - up a another hill!
A very comfortable and well run hotel on the hill. Staff were extremely accommodating and the food was always plentiful, tasty and well presented. We were there for valentines dinner and it was perfect for a special occasion too.

Easy reach of where we wanted to be

Pros: Situated where we wanted to be.
Cons: As above room décor.
Hotel serves wonderful breakfast but décor in rooms is "tired". Staff are very helpful and polite and nothing is too much trouble for them. Lots of return guests, of which we were too and hope we can stay again in the future.

Touring Portland Bill, Weymouth and Chesil Beach

Pros: A large comfortable room with a large double bed.
Cons: The Lift and access to it. It is a tight fit for two people plus cases. We were warned that if you move too much the Lift will sway and stop !
Location: Location really exposed but that's expected. Chisel Beech is a must for birdwatching. Carvings in nearby Quarries worth a visit. Weymouth Harbour
Heights Hotel is very exposed to the elements, which is not surprising considering its location at the end of Portland Bill. You need to be prepared for all kinds of weather. The general atmosphere and the eating arrangements are reminicent of a Motorway Service station. All of the staff are really helpful and obliging but I have the impression that they are multifunctional. i.e. Kitchen staff turn up later as Chamber Maids! Maybe that is how present day hotels are staffed ? The food is not really up to scratch considering the cost of an evening meal. The Creme Brûlée was the worst I have ever had. Much better value for money can be found by motoring across into Weymouth where there are many excellent independent resturants to sample.

Very nice hotel. The restaurant had great views even if the food was not of the highest quality. The rooms were adequate. Location was perfect for our needs.

Cons: They need to turn the hotel around so the rooms could have a view of the sea!! Only view was from the restaurant.
Disappointing. Food was ok but presentation was not.
