A very lovely hotel with a great price for solo traveller single room with sea view and ensuite bathroom with bath and shower. TV room service. Options for dinner and breakfast. Extremely high standards of customer service. Nicely decorated and good set menu with good variety of options very well cooked and presented food which was delicious. Attentive , friendly staff who were able to provide information on the local area. Tea and coffee in room. Cosy and warm with good thock curtains to cut out light when sleeping. Very quiet at night. Bar and restaurant on site. Lots of storage available. Walking distance to beach, BIC, Pavillion and restaurants and bars. Car park available and 5 mins by taxi from station. Lift available. Had a really excellent experience and will definitely book again. I would recommend to friends and family.

Unfortunately we did not have the best stay here. We were woken up ever morning by either an alarm, or renovation work (drilling) and the cleaning staff asking if we wanted the room to be cleaned (she came at 9:00am). The front desk staff were rude and did not give us all the information when we asked.

Perfect seaside hotel, you can’t go wrong here.
Perfect position by the sea, pier, oceanarium and BIC. Our room was upgraded on arrival by friendly check in staff and was great, with comfortable, large bed. Staff were welcoming and pleasant. Yes, the hotel decor leans slightly more traditional rather than modern interiors, but it’s in good condition, seemed fully staffed and has a car park (£14 per day). Table d’hote dinner was very good, including a gluten free dessert (chocolate brownie with ice cream) which was a refreshing surprise. This hotel isn’t gigantic but it’s public areas are spacious, and everything is well done. For me, that’s a massive plus. (Had a recent experience in Southampton that had appalling staff levels, broken a/c and barely any experienced managers.)

Location is excellent However we were sold a room above a party reception room and there was a wedding on that day. The music and singing went on until midnight and after that there were furniture re-arrangement noises until 1am. I would have never booked this hotel if I knew there was a wedding party going on on that day especially just below my room. Mattresses were also quite old, all in all it wasn't comfortable, hotel need refurbishment.

Initial check-in felt like something out of Fawlty Towers - a very slow explanation of how a hotel worked for somebody who'd never stayed in one before. Room - no sockets by the bed and poor water pressure in the shower. Night porter took many rings to open the front door (apparently lots of drunk people ring the door at night which is why he didn't respond).

Amazing location, breakfast was fantastic with a large choice. No one explainerd the parking until i arrived which was £12 a day. It would have been nice to know this before i arrived. The only negative was the beds. My daughters (she is 4) single bed was a foldable sofa. It was awful but luckily she is so light she did not notice the metal bar in the middle. Also the Mattress for me nad my wife were not the best where we both had back ache after 3 nights. Change the Mattresses and we would come back.

Excellent location for a family holiday, dog friendly and the dog beaches just a short 10 mins walk up the coast from the pier. We had breakfast included which was good, car park and dog charge extra which was not on the booking platform and had to pay on arrival.

Everyone is a Superstar!
All the staff & so lovely and freindly from reception, kitchen & breakfast staff, housekeeping...everyone was just fantastic. There was a few maintenence issue but it was resolved straight away which is the main point. Such a convenient place for small children and a step away from the beach..I'm going to miss the comfort here. My kids are going to miss ordering ahot Chocolate every night. Thank you all so much

Lack of accurate information available on booking If I had known any of the following I would have booked elsewhere. 1) that the sea view room - was only partial at best 2) suites were only accessible by two flights of stairs - not by lift 3) the suite I was in was split level with the bedroom being very small Not the luxury weekend stay I had hoped for.

Another great stay at this lovely hotel
Another great stay at this excellent hotel. The staff are so friendly and efficient. My room was clean and had the best view of the sea. Every request was answered immediately with courtesy and kindness. If I'm planning to stay in Bournemouth, then The Hermitage is my only choice.

Hermitage Hotel
We had a lovely short break in a superior twin room with a magnificent sea view. My wife has mobility issues and we chose this hotel as it is so close to the beach, literally 3 minutes away. We are already planning our next break at the Hermitage.

This was the third time we have stayed in this lovely hotel. It is close to the beach and the town, the Staff are all friendly and helpful and the hotel is clean, the room was a good size but the bed was not as comfy as it has been on previous stays. Great locale but bit disappointing hotel.
Struggle to understand accent of check-in, inland room view bit rubbish, alright seaview would be great. decor was tired and repairs clearly done by novice handyman/on the cheap.. TV was small and remote was sporadic in working.. car park is hideously small and expensive with some spaces almost impossible when busy. But the location was brilliant though!

We stayed over the Easter weekend but found after checking in that there was no hot water in the room. Since it was late, we waited until the following morning to report this to reception. The hot water was not restored until late on Saturday evening. From talking to others ours was not an isolated incident and we also heard others reporting this to reception when checking out. For a room that is being charged at £250 a night, I would not expect to be without water for more than a couple of hours. More than 24 hours is just not acceptable. In fairness to the hotel, they waived our parking charges when we checked out, but only after making a complaint.

we have stayed several times at this hotel in the past The hotel is now owned by the OCEANA group for the last three years and unfortunately the standards have dropped in all respects the costs for a pint of Perone is £6.45p and the room we stayed in a double with a sea view is in need of an update You can not sit on the toilet properly as there is a towel radiator in the way Floor boards creaking when you walk across room top floor must of been noisy for the room below not enough sockets in room very small double bed woken up at 6.30am by dust cart tipping glass bottles and taking them away Breakfast very average indeed bacon rock hard been left in bay Marie for to long eggs hard and swimming in fat toaster was burning every one’s bread Several guests having same comments as myself saying it was not as good as when family owned had return and we disappointed When purchasing food or drinks as soon as they brought it to you before you had eaten or drank wanting payment d straight away I am sorry to be so negative but this is how it was (this is my own personal experience and opinion) We stayed one night I think the location is the best you could ask for and on site parking is available Staff could be a little more friendly and greet you at breakfast apart from asking for room no and let you know where tea hot water coffee and show you what’s on offer as some guests were confused on the regime of a full self service breakfast
