Good location near the alt stadt and shopping. Recommend for football visitors. Staff kept bar open (for Bier) after football match on a friday night. Friendly check-in and check out. Short walk from the hbf.

Excellent, modern hotel right in the city centre
Lovely hotel, for a reasonable price I got a big room, double bed with a bath and an array of coffees and teas. The room was lovely, my only minor negative was the price of the breakfast; €20 is a bit steep!

Good Location, but that's it...
We were in Dortmund for a football match. We stayed in this Mercure the first night (the Centrum one for the second night). This Mercure was nowhere near as good as the Centrum one. The entrance, when you find it, is just a door. Then use an elevator to 3rd floor for check-in. This one was £144 a night, the other £257, so this one cheaper. But there's a reason for that. When approaching from the main station you can see the sign on the roof, but there;'s no entrance. So you go around the side and see another vertical sign - but no entrance. Backwards and forward, then a full circuit of the block reveals that you have apprached from the back and there is no signage to tell you to go around to the other street. Then you enter thru' a glass door and go up in the elevator. Signs and advice is in short supply. The hotel is tired. Hair dryer was very week. Bath towels are not very big. And the usual question - would I stay there again. The answer is No, I wouldn't - unless it was desperate. Use the other Mercure and pay the extra.

On a one way street with limited access. One of the elevators was broken during our stay. Parking was available but inconvenient. Area surrounding hotel was noisy all night and dirty.

Stayed for 2 nights as a stopover on our way to Belgium. One of the cheaper options but advertised as 3 star. Very outdated and in need of a refurb. There was a stain on the curtains and a tile was falling off the wall in the bathroom. Bed was comfy enough and we had a good nights sleep.

Nice, but extremely noisy.
The hotel is nice, rooms are comfy, breakfast is decent and the staff are efficient and friendly - the stay was good from that perspective. The issue is that one section of the hotel is very near an all night bar that is incredibly loud until 5am over the weekend. The noise was only on the Friday and Saturday night, but it made it virtually impossible to sleep. I was not the only guest complaining as I heard a number of others. While that isn't the hotel's fault, had I known I would not have chosen to stay there. So probably a great hotel for weekday visits, but best avoided on the weekend unless you can be guaranteed a room on the quieter sides.

Had an overnight stay and everything was great. Staff even accommodating helping to cut a wristband off that was stuck on my wrist. Even though there are works going on at the hotel nothing was obtrusive to my stay.

The property location is very convenient to both the train station and shops downtown. Unfortunately, although the hotel advertises that they have air conditioning the management of the building would not turn it on. The temperature was 87 degrees in Dortmund and my room felt like 100 degrees. Hotel management thought that giving me a $5.00 fan to blow around the hot air was compensation enough.....I disagree! I will never stay at this hotel again as my complaints went unanswered for the entire 5 days! At a minimum half of my room rate (or in full) should have been paid back as it was impossible to sleep at this hotel or hangout in the room during the day.

We walked around the building site 3 times trying to find an entrance that was a glass door between scaffolding that lead to a lift The hotel was on top of a building site that started drilling at 7am

Great Location Nice and Clean in the City Center
Stayed here while in town to see Der Klassiker - Dortmund vs Bayern Munich. Location was perfect as it was a short walk from the train station to the hotel. There was a great outside mall just across the street with tons of shops and many nice restaurants. The UBahn to the stadium was less than 100 meters away. Nice, clean hotel and awesome location.

Great hotel in centre of town with very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast costs €19 which is expensive for a 3* hotel. The room was quite small but more than adequate for my needs. Domicil jazz club is round the corner and the main shopping street, Saturday market square and excellent restaurants are only minutes away on foot.

We went to Dortmund to hear the Berlin Philharmonic. Gorgeous concert hall is located less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from the train station. Very convenient location.

The hotel was nice . Great location very close to amenities and the u bahn. Very disappointed that my double bed was just two singles pushed together. Also had breakfast both days. City charge of €10 was expensive but the two breakfasts cost €70. It was ridiculous to be honest. Had I known I would have went elsewhere. Otherwise it was nice. Staff very friendly and helpful

I went to Dortmund for a weekend and stayed at the Mercure Hotel Dortmund City. Check in and check out was very easy and the staff were friendly and helpful whenever they were needed. It may not be the most lavish of hotels, but it was perfect for what I needed and reasonably priced. It is also very well situated in the centre of Dortmund, close to many shops and restaurants.
