Relaxed and rested enough to get through the day. Only thing wrong with some lighting did not function properly. Otherwise fine.

Hampton Inn Dover

Pros: Updated, Clean, great service
Cons: Nothing that we saw.
Location: Easy to find and close to Restaurants and shopping.
Five stars all around. One of the best Hampton Inns we have stayed in over the years. Highly recommend.

Pros: Super clean and comfortable
Cons: Nothing I can think of...
My family and I arrived late and left early. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable for all of us. I wasn't expecting much from a Hampton Inn, but it was very nice. No complaints whatsoever.

May have to reconsider the Hampton Inn

We usually stay at Hampton Inn properties--they tend to be clean, comfortable and reliable. We had two negative experiences a week apart, however, and may have to reconsider. At the one in Dover, DE, we had a problem at check-in, which the clerk unhelpfully blamed on hotels.com. After we finally got things straightened out, we found that our room was smaller than most Hampton Inns. There was no place to put our suitcases; the "closet" was a small area behind the window curtains, and there was a wire rack next to the fridge for putting our clothes. The bathroom door had no lock, and it was not on hinges, but rolled in and out of position, like a pocket door, although the ugly hardware was visible. The smoke detector had been poorly installed, leaving a visible hole. When we reserved, we specifically asked for no down pillows, because we are allergic. We were given down pillows anyway. Although they replaced them at our request, our allergies bothered us all evening. It was not all negative. The wi-fi was strong, the pool was small but clean, and the free breakfast was perfectly acceptable. Still, we may have to reconsider our automatic allegiance to the Hampton Inn.
