Caught in transition

I think this hotel may be on the way to improvement. The lobby and grill are new and very nice. Complementary Happy Hour and breakfast were very well stocked and put together. Pool and gym were nothing special, but clean and maintained well. The second floor is home to some sort of open air office. You can look right in on these telemarketers going about their day. Unusual is a hardly adequate description. Rooms are outdated with turn of the century wall paper, furniture, and carpets. The one thing about this hotel that really drives down my rating, however, is the internet service. I paid for the highest the hotel has to offer and I had one bar of wifi. Not enough to even load a page. The front desk did refund my money, but as a business traveler, I was not able to do any of my daily follow up and planning work. This is an ender for me. I always have a couple of hours each night to document and plan. I had to do this the next day at a coffee shop. If I was presenting at 730 AM which I often do, that would have made for a very long day.
