Did not get what I paid for

Posted Nov 16, 2017
Pros: nothing after this bad experience
Cons: everything
I reserved a room with double bed that costs more just to avoid getting a room with a handicap roll in shower. What did I get? the room with a handicap roll in shower. I didn't get my money back either. The shower is low as hell and I had to crouch just to get under the shower. I am only 5ft 6. I also didn't mention when you check in they immediately say if you park in our lot in front you will be charged $12 or you can park for free across the street. Of course this is after everyone has already parked in paid parking. Second time this happened at this exact hotel. Gave me a room I didn't pay for.

could not be happier

Posted Nov 14, 2017
I stayed at Double Tree for 5 nights when I was attending a conference in Albuquerque. The hotel was connected to the conference center, and I did not have to walk outside to go to my workshops. Room had a beautiful view of mountain and the city, and it was very clean and comfortable. I received warm cookies and bottle water complimentary, daily. The decor was beautiful and the leather seats in the lobby were very comfortable. Free shuttles to nearby hotels and airport. 5 stars :)

Mistake to stay here

Posted Jul 27, 2017
We reserved our room through Expedia, so we had no idea they charge us $15.00 per day to park. When checking in, the guy was kind enough to waive that. The breakfast buffet was disappointing, considering they charge $15.00 per plate. The biscuits were rock solid, the gravy watery, the eggs obviously the powdered mix. My wife's phone was stolen while we were in town, so she needed to use one of their computers in the lobby to check her messages for work. There was a wedding reception taking place, with two five year old kids playing video games on both computers. When we asked the manager to kindly ask one of the kids to move for a few minutes, he refused. This after we asked security to do the same. Their reasoning was that those kids had just as much a right to the computers as we did, whether it was business related or video game. We asked him to compensate our room, he refused since we paid through a third party. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. For the price they charge, you could pay a small amount more to stay at the Hyatt Regency several blocks down the road.

Pros: Nice beds.
This isn't like other Double Trees - it's pretty dirty, there are flys everywhere around the food. Our room was not clean when we checked in, floor has clearly not been vacuumed, old coffee in the coffee maker, spilled coffee on the bathroom floor, towels that had stains on it. The staff tried to be as helpful as possible. It's also 12 bucks for parking and it's not like their in some major city - also the location of the hotel is not that great - it's in a remote area of downtown.

Nothing spectacular, pool and gym where closed for renovations only found out when I got there. No air on the lobby because of renovations.

I stayed at the Doubletree in Albuquerque for a conference held on the UNM campus. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. There were always 2 containers of ice water infused with citrus or cucumber in the lobby and I got a warm cookie every night when I asked for it. The room was quiet. However, checking into the room, I sat down at the desk to do a bit of work to find that I was sitting on someone's old lipstick left in the chair along with a load of long hairs and dirt/crumbs/grime along the edges of the chair. This, accompanied with the mouldy streaks that developed in the toilet after a day and the roach I killed that was crawling on the bathroom countertop resulted in the low rating on cleanliness and my wish to move hotels. Unfortunately, I had booked a "low" and non-refundable rate of $99/night at hotels.com so I couldn't move. The other issue with the location is that there are no restaurants downtown other than Subway and the hotel did not offer free breakfast. So I had to either pay large amounts of money for their mediocre restaurant faire, or travel 2 miles to the UNM area to pick up some awesome breakfast at Winnings Coffee (which truly was exceptional coffee and food!). The hotel is undergoing renovations, so possibly the cleanliness of the rooms will improve. But this hotel was not a $99/night hotel.

Looking forward to completed renovations

Posted Jul 22, 2017 on Hotels
They had quite a bit of renovations going on so some spaces were not up to par or were uncomfortable. There were some accommodations were not available. Also, having the shuttle available really made the town accessible because there was not much locally available.
