All fixed in the end

Posted Dec 19, 2017
Pros: It was nicely designed, clean, had a workout room and we liked the location.
Cons: free parking and free wifi, please...
Location: Petroglyphs national monument, a zoo, multiple museums, lots of cultural locations.
While there were multiple things about this hotel that we liked, I was disappointed about two things: the parking and the wifi. When we arrived, we found out that the hotel had no free wifi, unless you sign up for their rewards club. OK, we did that, grudgingly - but we kept getting kicked off over and over during our stay. Every time, it required signing in again through multiple screens before regaining access. I might have gotten over the wifi, but we had a similar issue with parking. When we checked in, we were told that we had to pay a daily fee for parking. OK... not that unusual in a downtown area, but it was a small parking lot adjacent to the hotel. We were not told where the overflow parking was until we came back on a freezing night and had to run into the hotel to find out where we were supposed to find more parking for which we were paying. OK - all of that was overcome, until the day we checked out to find that we had not been charged at all for the parking. When I mentioned that they had told us we would have to pay for parking, the clerk just said "oh well, it wasn't in the computer...". Once again, it ended up OK, but why go through any of that? Give patrons free wifi and free parking.

Did not get what I paid for

Posted Nov 16, 2017
Pros: nothing after this bad experience
Cons: everything
I reserved a room with double bed that costs more just to avoid getting a room with a handicap roll in shower. What did I get? the room with a handicap roll in shower. I didn't get my money back either. The shower is low as hell and I had to crouch just to get under the shower. I am only 5ft 6. I also didn't mention when you check in they immediately say if you park in our lot in front you will be charged $12 or you can park for free across the street. Of course this is after everyone has already parked in paid parking. Second time this happened at this exact hotel. Gave me a room I didn't pay for.

could not be happier

Posted Nov 14, 2017
I stayed at Double Tree for 5 nights when I was attending a conference in Albuquerque. The hotel was connected to the conference center, and I did not have to walk outside to go to my workshops. Room had a beautiful view of mountain and the city, and it was very clean and comfortable. I received warm cookies and bottle water complimentary, daily. The decor was beautiful and the leather seats in the lobby were very comfortable. Free shuttles to nearby hotels and airport. 5 stars :)

Disappointed

Posted Oct 17, 2017 on Orbitz
Being new to travel in Albuquerque I didn’t know if staying downtown was a good or bad idea. First, the hotel charges $12 a day for parking. Secondly, We were advised not to walk about after dark. Third, I saw a homeless person trying to charge his phone via the lobby computers. Lastly, it’s an old, trying-to-look-new hotel. The pool is a joke. The bathroom is dated and small.

A bit of a Horror Show

Posted Oct 10, 2017 on Hotels
Used to love this Hotel.. had been staying there for more than 15 years..loved the cookies on the pillow..the turndown service in the evening, the staff..everything. No longer. The short version of a 10 day stay is more a list as the story of 3 room changes takes too much time so: 3 days no hot water 2 days shower only a trickle tub spout fell off in son's hand 1/2 eaten food from previous guest in fridge in 1 room move management never entered it into the system. Return that evening and key cards didn't work for new room. Mgmt said we were in previous room. All our stuff was in new room. Key cards stopped working on day 7 Staff were all lovely and always tried to make things better, but I'll stay at the Hyatt next time.

Great service!

Nice hotel, wonderful staff, comfortable stay, convenient to downtown nightlife, yet be attentive to your surroundings, since the downtown ABQ facelift is slow to take hold, along with a much needed redirection of its rough, drunken, drug-laced, downtown vagrants.
