Old time Alaska feel,

Posted Nov 9, 2017
Pros: Location and atmosphere
Cons: Nothing
The hotel has the feel of coming home, nice large suites, clean and well cared for. Very friendly and helpful staff. The location is central to down town Anchorage.

Best Kept Secret in Anchorage

Posted Sep 8, 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff; awesome location; great price; very roomy
Cons: pillows are a bit flat
Great location, great price, wonderful staff. This is more of a 1 bedroom apartment - a little dated - but very well-kept and well located. In very expensive Alaska, this is an economical and pleasing find.

Cleam, comfortable and in a very good location near downtown. However, it's a bit pricey.

A slightly hidden gem in Downtown Anchorage

Posted Sep 5, 2017 on Hotels
Not a well known hotel in Anchorage, but a very pleasant place to stay for a week for a reasonable price. It was easy to walk to the visitor's centre, the city bus station and local services in Downtown Anchorage. PS: Check out the gumbo house around the corner on 9th avenue. It's not obvious that it is in the area, but a great meal.

Great option.

Duke's is centrally located but still very a very quiet option. It's right on the park strip. The rooms are set up nicely, and the place is a great option for longer term stays. The place isn't your typical, staid (modern) hotel. It runs on the older side but is really a nice place. The staff are fantastic, too. New Sagaya City Market is close enough you can pick up odds and ends groceries, but, if you want to eat out, the downtown restaurants are just a few blocks away. Also, the city bus that goes to the airport stops just by the hotel.
