Great location in Asheville

Posted Nov 4, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: The bar could be nicer. It's in the hallway and isn't really a nice place to hang out.
Location: Great location, walking distance to downtown
Walking distance to downtown Asheville. Nice hotel, has everything you need. It was really expensive, but I guess Asheville hotels are expensive in general. Anyway, good hotel.

Our reservation was not honored!

Posted Oct 16, 2017
Pros: Would not know since we did not stay there.
Cons: We could have been notified before arrival that our reservations would not be honored.
Upon arrival to the hotel, 3 of our 4 reservations were not honored. We were "walked" to another hotel 5 miles away far from downtown where we wanted to stay. Our group was split up. Only told "we understand but sorry". If the Renaissance Asheville does not want to honor Expedia bookings then they should not offer their rooms on the website.

We apologize for the inconvenience that you and your friends experienced, but we were happy that we could accommodate all of you at our expense for both nights of your visit to Asheville. We hope that you will consider selecting the Renaissance on a future visit to Asheville so that we can demonstrate to you the quality of service that we are capable of providing.

Our room was comfortable, but the AC was very loud, to the point that it woke us up at night.

Costly for the service

Posted Sep 11, 2017
Pros: location for activities
Cons: everything
Location: within walking distance of shops and local events
We had 2 rooms for 2 nights, asking for 2 queens in each with rooms on the same floor or adjacent along with a walk in shower if possible. What we got were 2 rooms adjoining with one KING bed and 2 queens in the other. We called down and asked for a roll away bed (or 2 if possible) since we had 3 people in each room. We got NOTHING! I realize that it was a busy weekend but I had the printed confirmation stating 2 rooms with 2 queen beds and were still not accommodated. Neither room had an extra blanket and/or sheets. When we called for an extra blanket AND sheet we got one sheet! All restaurants and bars in the hotel closed before 11 and housekeeping came early (9 am) we were barely up so just asked for towels but they never came back to clean or make up beds in EITHER room!!!!!!!!!!! The bathrooms were not well appointed. No vanity, hooks or towel bars! The closet in one room consisted of a low bar with a shelf on top no door or place to hang a longer dress or coat!!!!!!!!!!!! For the amount of money we spent I think the service and accommodations were at best FAIR! I've stayed in economy places with better service and facilities.

Dear Sandy, Thank you for choosing our hotel for your Asheville stay. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our proximity to the down town area and all its activities. Please know that this is not the service our guests have come to expect and we have passed your comments on to our leadership so that they may work to improve service to our future guests. Please know also that we are able to guarantee bed types up to the point they are all assigned, and then we're able to put them in as a request and honor it when possible. We take each guest's experience very seriously and we hope that you will consider staying with us the next time you visit Asheville.

Great stay

Great hotel. Very clean and comfortable. The only negative was the morning breakfast. They do not have enough staff. We weee seated for over 10 minutes before we were acknowledged. Service was not much better but the workers were trying and very busy. Convenient to stores and restaurants. Will stay here again. I just might go out for breakfast next time.

Nice hotel in the heart of Asheville. Good starting point for a fun day. Most everything within easy walking distance.
