Did not rest very well at that hotel

Posted Jul 13, 2017
Pros: Room was OK
Cons: Fix the wifi internet; my room was within 20-25 yards from the front desk, where the wifi router was supposedly located and there was no signal.
Location: within 4 blocks from Congress
Well painted room, but the ceiling was shaking when the guest from the room above was walking, and I could hear the guests from the adjacent room easily, as well as a lot of noise from the hallway. There was no wifi signal in the room, although it was within 20-25 yards from the front desk, where the wifi router was supposedly located; I had to go to the lobby to check email, and other guests were doing the same.

Great location but terrible venue

Posted Jul 12, 2017
Pros: The ONLY thing good about this hotel is location.
Cons: The customer service and number of workers at front desk should increase. The line tends to back up for 45 minutes.
It took me two days to replenish my towels., the clerk never dropped them off to the room as promised. The trash can outside was also full for 2 days. I told the desk clerk who was unaware of the trash pile up outside the FRONT doors. The breakfast to go options never included any fresh fruit so if you are gluten intolerant - beware. There is one female who was there upon my arrival who was helpful and seemed to do her job but the remainder of the workers were very unhelpful and rude. I tried to use the vending machine on the first night. The machine failed to work properly. I alerted the front desk of its inoperable nature. 3 days later, tried to use it again, it was quite empty so I know that it works periodically. I felt encouraged that it would work this time but it failed to operate. I was irritated due to the already present lack of amenities at this hotel and poor customer service figuring that at least the vending machine should work. I again alerted the clerk but this time with sincere aggravation. The basics of the conversation occurred in the following manner: the clerk said "I can refund your money but I don't know what else you want me to do, I just WORK here" to which I responded with "you are in responsible for ensuring and maintaining a properly functioning hotel which includes vending machines" (thinking he should call Canteen to come and fix their machine/alert management). other current guests agreed. Cockroach in room. asking for soap is like pulling teeth

Dirty hotel and incompetent staff

Posted Jul 3, 2017
When I got there they gave me used room when I entered it there were towels and mess everywhere, I went down to tell them that and after waiting for half hour the front desk employee changed gave me another room. At 1am at night I was sleeping the room phone was ringing so loudly, I woke up scared to pick up the phone and the front desk employee asked me what was the room number that I got in the beginning before they change it because he could not see it on the system. After all my experience was bad and I won't stay there anymore it's not worth it.

Great Location! Horrible Hotel

Posted Jun 26, 2017
Pros: The location is the bomb!
Cons: For the love of God-spend some money. it is not like you were not charging enough for the rooms.
Location: It is right in the middle of the Austin Scene
The room was filthy. The bedding was aged. The mattress was unbearable.

This place is disgusting

Posted Jun 6, 2017
Homeless people sleeping in the lobby. Filth everywhere. Easily one of the most disgusting places I've ever stayed and I've seen some dingy hostels all over the world. Highly recommend avoiding this place

Location is close enough to downtown to walk

Posted Jun 3, 2017
Pros: Price was better than closer in to downtown hotels
Cons: Cable TV; Breakfast
Location: Close enough to downtown to walk;
The location is close enough downtown so you can walk to Congress St and to downtown. It is a bit far from the capitol to walk, but that is a matter of choice and the weather. The room was clean. There really is no breakfast. Just coffee and a few breakfast bars. My major problem was all the TV channels did not work, specifically ABC. That was a major problem during the NBA playoffs. There was a kitchen, but it was not stocked. It appears you had to ask for the utensils and dishes.

Sam, thank you for choosing us. We are glad you liked our convenient location and affordable pricing. Having said that, we certainly apologize for the issues you experienced with your television channels. Unfortunately, maintenance issues do arise from time to time, and once identified, we work as quickly as possible to get everything fully operational. We would also like to inform you that, kitchenware for your suite is kept at the front desk to ensure cleanliness, and we will be sure our front desk communicates this more clearly going forward. Thanks again for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back soon. Sincerely, General Manager

There was no free parking as promised, the kitchen was dirty, there was no shampoo (as is normal at a hotel), and the shower pressure was weak. Additionally, they had hard water so it was challenging to remove soap. An the breakfast was missing - there was no muffins or granola bars (just coffee). The hotel stated that they were missing a shipment for breakfast and shampoo, but it seems to be going down hill.
