Right in front of 6th street

Our room was warm never cooled down, we bought beverages to keep in the fridge, which never cooled & we had to discard our milk because it went bad. We always stay at a Hilton when traveling but this location unfortunately was NOT our best stay & we will not be returning!

Good value for downtown full service

Pros: Quiet room, comfortable bed, close to convention center
Cons: BOH staff dress and cleanliness, worn surfaces, way to expensive parking.
The hotel is very quiet, which is nice since it's next to the freeway. It's pretty dated. Couldn't AC/Heat fan speed so always in Blast setting. Hotel maintanence staff were filthy, hair clothes shoes smell. I worked in a lumber yard in the 70s and didn't come to work like that. Restaurant was out of 3 of the 8 entrees listed. Elevators need refinishing inside, very worn. Balance of the hotel is dated by well kept. Staff in positions to deal with customers regularly were very nice and pleasantly professional.

TX vs OSU weekend

Pros: The beds are very comfortable
Cons: I would suggest more than one set of towels for each guest.
Location: You have to drive to anything near by. Hotel is in odd place off of the highway
The hotel is very difficult to get to as it sits in an obscure location off of the highway. The drainage in the tub was slow and I had to turn the water off during my shower to let standing water drain before continuing. The walls are thin so you can here your neighbor. Ice machine was broken on two of the four floors.

Affordable Digs in Downtown Austin

Pros: Location, price, breakfast buffet, room
Cons: The atrium common room on the 10th floor could be re-done; it was unused and rather gloomy.
Location: Location is at the east end of downtown between 5th and 6th, ideal walking distance of downtown and easy access to the Hilton & Convention Center.
Pluses: - Breakfast buffet overlooking the Austin skyline - great way to start the day - Easy walking distance of 6th street bars/restaurants - Clean, comfortable rooms, guest laundry well maintained Minuses: - Lobby entrance embedded in the parking garage entrance seems dangerous/off-putting - Not quite within walking distance of convenience stores/grocery shopping (negative for extended stays) - Bathroom lighting and water pressure in shower left something to be desired; room was excellent otherwise

Great Location

Pros: Location to downtown and surrounding restaurants around Austin.
I came to Austin, TX for a tattoo, some of the best tattoo artists and talent is in Austin. That being said, I chose this hotel due to the walking distance to my artists shop (off Caesar Chavez street and Comas Blvd.) Also since Hilton Garden Inn is so close to 6th it wasn't hard to pick a better location! The staff was fantastic, though I arrived early they kept my luggage to allow me to grab lunch and explore some of the local bars before checking in.

Had a great time for the one night of stay. The only thing that maybe better us the check out staff. You may want more than one person working front desk on Sunday checkout. Other than that it was a nice time
