Great Location to Downtown!

Posted Nov 20, 2017
The hotel is in a great location to downtown! It was perfect for what we needed. The bed was super comfortable and everything was really clean. It didn’t effect our stay at all but the furniture pieces looked all scratched up on the sides. Like I said, no big deal. Everything else was amazing!

Perfect location for bars & restaurants

Posted Nov 8, 2017
Pros: Location
Location: B.D. Rileys and Friends Bar were fun...just 3-4 minute walk from hotel.
Convenient location. Just two blocks from the action on 6th St and 7 minute uber ride to Rainey Street. Clean, nice hotel staff, and room was a decent size. We took the mega bus to San Antonio and the pick up location was on the same street about a 14 minute walk away. Good price.

Great hotel ideally situated

Posted Nov 2, 2017
Pros: Location and quality
Cons: Provide Airport shuttle.
Location: 4 star hotel ideally situated for 6th Street entertainment, 1 block away, and situated between Texas State Hall and the river for the bats on Congress
Great hotel ideally situated for entertainment and sight seeing we were seeking in downtown Austin

Pros: Order the Brisket Quesadilla from the bar. We ordered this 2 out of the 3 night we were there AND bought 2 to go for when we got home. So so so good!
We checked in late and the front desk was quick and informative. This hotel is within walking distance of most everything. We didn't rent a car and made it to the State House, Hope Wall, South Congress District and 6th street. We took and Uber fro the airport for $24 and a cab at 4am for $27 + Tip. There were several cabs lined up right out front at that time.

Pros: Location is pretty central to everything downtown.
Cons: Sound proofing from street level activity could be much better.
Location: Easy walk to great restaurants, coffee, activities, convention center, etc.
The hotel is on what I felt was the fringe of the downtown area. It isn't a bad location, but I would not feel comfortable walking around at certain times. There is a substantial amount of things to do within walking distance however. Sound from street level activity on weekends could be improved. 6th street was close to the hotel making for a very interesting activity level on Saturday evening.

Used to be nice- now has the comfort of a Motel 6

Posted Oct 11, 2017
Pros: The staff and the location would be the only reason I go back again.
Cons: Everything listed above- the furniture, the equipment, the rewards program, the pool, etc.
Location: Right off of 6th street- used to be worth the hefty price to be 2 blocks away. No longer worth the price during festival season.
We come to this location every fall for Austin City Limits- the last 4 years in a row. We used to stay at the Hilton by the capital or the Marriott (where we should have gone this year). Will not come back after this last visit- our AC was broken and hardly running, the beds/mattresses were horrible and flimsy and unsupported, and I'm still having neck/back pains from it three days later. Also, I did not get my complimentary beverage menu (had to ask twice and also did not get it the last morning) from being a member, and the TV was horrible (poor visual and audio). The pool was also messy and wasn't up to Omni standards. The only decent part about our experience were the bellhops, the valet crew and the check-in staff. They were extremely gracious and polite and are the only reason we didn't check out early and go to the Marriott instead. Disappointed- all of these low points are fixable and normally I do not experience these at any Omni location.
