Standard central hotel in downtown

Posted Nov 16, 2017
Pros: The spacious rooms.
Cons: Breakfast: Selection of food and juices for the requested prices not worse the money. The restaurant service staff needs to be more customer friendly.
Location: Good connection to the Penn Station and BWI airport.
We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Inner Harbor for the SNL conference in Baltimore. The hotel has a good connection to the Penn Station and to the BWI airport with the light line. Due to the central location of the hotel downtown it takes only about 5-10 minutes by feet to get to the conference center and other conference rooms. To the harbor and Aquarium its about 15-20 minutes by feet. The staff on the reception and room service are very friendly and helpful. Excluding the restaurant and breakfast service, we enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn. The rooms are spacious and clean and also have a refrigerator to keep drinks and food fresh and cold. The hotel also provides a fitness facility, small sauna and swimming pool. The equipment in the fitness room was average and nothing extraordinary and served the purpose. The pool and sauna we had not use. The breakfast and restaurant service could have been better. When it comes to the variety of food and juices, the choices were quite limited. The service staff from the breakfast shift were usually behind so during our five night stay we usually could not catch a clean setted-up table. Expected waiting time for coffee and juice could easily become 10-15min. There were a few times when we headed to the breakfast when there was still more than 1h to go - unfortunately several selections were not served longer. Excluding the breakfast experience we can recommend the hotel as a good standard solution for a stay in Baltimore.

Good location, old hotel

Posted Nov 13, 2017
Pros: Staff
Cons: Needs renovations
In town for a conference, had a great location right nearby convention center. I assume it is located in a relatively 'bad' area of town given that there is a security guard standing outside at all times of day. The hotel itself is dinged up and old in many places, but the room I stayed in was clean and perfectly good for a short stay (although there was a hole in the wall that looked like someone had punched the wall). When I checked in there was a 'system error' and they somehow assigned me to a room someone else was staying in - how awkward. I had to drag my stuff up and back down to the lobby to the far away tower three times before this was fixed. The staff was very apologetic and everyone who helped me was excellent. The breakfast isn't worth your time (I got free coupons for my check-in hassle) but is ok in a pinch.

Nice hotel in downtown Baltimore

We picked the hotel based on the heated pool. Pool was freezing cold...kids couldn't swim. Very dissatisfied

Mixed reviews

I stayed in the main building for 2 nights and had a great experience. The room was clean and spacious. However I moved to the west tower for a third night and had a completely different experience. The shower barely worked, the entrance was dark and dingy, and the elevators were broken when I was going to check out so I walked down 8 floors. If you choose this hotel make sure you stay in the main building.

Convienent

It's close to the convention center and stadium otherwise there is no reason to stay here. The nearby 711 gets fairly dangerous after sunset so stay close to the hotel.

Pros: Convenient to Hospital, ice machine was empty every evening.
Cons: Need bar on wall in tub area for safety.
Would have loved to take advantage of Inner Harbor activities and casino that were close by, but were there for family member having surgery at hospital.

A gem in the inner harbor

Posted Sep 22, 2017
Pros: Friendly staff that was quick to help us with advice on restaurants & directions. Valet parking was a treat. Free breakfast is always a bonus.
Cons: I have an over-sized wheelchair van that could not be parked in the hotel lot. I had to park it in an open lot a few blocks away but was reimbursed.
Location: Location was a little confusing to get to because we are not used to city dwelling. Many nice tourist locations within walking distance.
We had a very nice stay in this hotel recently. The staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. We rented two rooms here, both of which were spotless. The rooms are very nice. We were pleasantly surprised by this stay as it was a last minute change from another hotel. If I am ever in the Baltimore area again, I will definitely stay here again.
