The hotel is quaint, charming and interesting. However, ran out of K-cups, so no way to make coffee in room at 6am before flight - that kind of sucked. I could have gone to lounge to get some but who wants to do that in pjs? Room renovated but tile popping off in bathroom, odd floor laminate not finished (gaping hole at bathroom threshold). Door to bathroom vanity almost came off in my hand. Lovely receptionist took care of me at check in. He was the “best thing” about the stay!

A historic hotel, great charm, loved it

Posted Oct 30, 2017
This hotel is small, quaint, and has a great historical story. I so hate the boxy glass filled rooms of new hotels. The staff was outstanding. The breakfast was acceptable. We stayed in a large restored room on the top floor (6) which must have been the attic. Two seating areas, beautiful bath, and king size bed. A room where if you were so inclined, you could cozy up and read a book.

Great historic hotel

Posted Oct 27, 2017
Pros: It was a great piece of history, built before square rooms designed for maximum efficiency were the norm.
Cons: Since the building was built before air conditioners were invented, the AC unit in the room was a bit annoying.
Built in 1881, renovated in 2010. Building is eccentric, shaped to fit in an odd intersection, built before cars were a thing. Small building with rooms shaped to fit in the space available. I don't think there was a 90-degree angle in my room, but that made the space feel less industrial generic. I knew I wasn't at a Holiday Inn!

very convenient neighborhood hotel

Posted Oct 21, 2017
Pros: I appreciated the historical, unique features of the building. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and quiet.
Cons: The standard motel-style breakfast buffet doesn't fit the character of the hotel.
Location: I chose it because of proximity to U of Baltimore. The neighborhood offered plenty of options for dining.
Very convenient for business trip to U of Baltimore, good price and amenities (free parking!).

Cons: A broken coffee machine? Catastrophic for us not early morning people!
Positive other than the broken coffee machine at breakfast.

Nice hotel but in a bad area. I was greeted by a rude lady at the front desk. The bathroom was unclean. Big rooms with couch but overall not great.

Boutique hotel with character

Posted Sep 18, 2017
Everything that's good about a boutique hotel. No huge showy lobby wasting space. Excellent beds and bathroom. Thoughtful staff. Fascinating history of the building. No restaurant but charming places to eat nearby.
