The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I found the accommodations to be nice, and the room was neat when I arrived. It was also quiet, and convenient for walking to the UAB campus.

Surprise

Pros: Location
Cons: Complete renovation of rooms and common areas
Location: Food, drink and Medical facilities
Thought I was arriving to a luxury downtown hotel. The decor is old, the carpets are dirty, the room A/C was in pieces in my room. The bathroom had hair on the floor and toilet, the back of the door was dirty. Mgmt said it is undergoing renovations, but way too late. FO soup was burned black and still served to me. Really disappointed. Staff tried to make things right, but never felt clean and fresh while inside.

Old Carpet all around

The carpet at this hotel must be changed! It looks ugly and old!

Older but clean hotel on UAB campus

Allowed early check in, which was nice. Woman was talking with her friend the whole time we checked in, which was kind of rude. She did hang up at the end to advise us where to park and how to access our room. A bit of customer service trading may be in order.

Downtown hotel in need of renovation

Pros: The staff was pleasant. The beds were comfortable. Attached parking deck.
Cons: Hallways, elevators, lobbies room and furniture were all worn, scuffed, and dirty.
Location: Good location near Five Points.
I stayed 1 night and was disappointed by the general rundown condition of the hotel. The furniture in my tiny cramped room was worn through to the frame. I found hair in the bathtub from a previous guest. All of the ice machines were out of order and appeared to have been that way for some time. the elevators and hallways were scuff-marked and screamed for new paint and carpet. I also don't appreciate being charged for internet in these days of free Wi-fi, and being charged for parking in an empty, cavernous garage seemed like a gouge.

Good and bad

No refrigerator or microwave, coffee pot didn't work and we reported it and it was still not fixed before we left. Ice machine was broken on 3rd floor and this was reported as well. If we had a frige or ice machine it would have been ok. My daughter had surgery so we had to go to the 4th floor to get ice for ice packs. The food was delicious and the service was great in the dining and room service areas. We loved the free cucumber water in the lobby. Really liked the convienance of the parking garage, it was adjacent to the floor you were on.

We've stayed here several times in the past. Everything is as advertised. Nice clean comfortable room. Located just a couple of minutes from 5 Points and lots of nice restaurants.
