We stayed for a long weekend. The hotel staff was friendly. The room immaculate. Very comfortable, clean, quiet. Great breakfast with fruit , eggs, yogurt. Great choices!! Even hard boiled eggs. Really enjoyed our stay ! Would definitely stay here again.

Disappointing stay in Birmingham.

Pros: The suite layout was a nice feature.
Cons: See my experience above.
Location: Downtown location. Accessible to I-65 but nothing really in the area besides university buildings. Drove 10 miles to get to decent shopping / food.
Upon arrival at the site, the staff couldn't find my Expedia reservation. I had to spend 15 minutes trying to find my confirmation, which I eventually had to obtain by calling Expedia support. The staff eventually found my reservation with my last name as Jr. and my first name as my full name. As we checked in, I found out that parking in an open parking lot had an unexpected additional $11.95 charge (plus all the stupid taxes). As we walked into the room, a very strong smell of cleaning chemicals permeated the entire suite. The bed was uncomfortable. The breakfast could be consider intermediate continental at best. At the prices charge by this hotel, I expected much better. I could have stayed an Embassy Suites and gotten better service that this one. We will NOT be returning to this hotel.

Experience was not Residence Inn Standards. Old hotel not well kept.

Pros: Cleanliness.
Cons: $6 soda cans were a bit much!
Location: Groceries, food, booze...
Clean, nice views, super friendly room-service; I'd stay here again!

A+ Accommodation

Excellent room with full kitchen (no stove: 2 cooktops, full fridge, dishwasher & dishes, cups, utensils...) sofa bed & King bed! Great for the family: me, husband & 18 month old. Swivel tv was great, staff friendly. Snack bar with beer, snacks & microwave meals. Excellent free continental breakfast too. A+ for value

The first day I arrived I tried to use the fireplace to enjoy some quiet time, called for service was told they had to order a part and it would be in the next day this never happened. Each night and during the day there was a constant banging noise at night it made the room vibrate I went to the service desk in regard to this nothing changed. One morning I was taking a shower and smoke alarm went off in total panic got out called service desk they said that is something that happens sometimes had to listen to this for 15 mins. Access to my area did not have a ramp so luggage had to be brought in peice by piece and I just had breast cancer surgery on left side and a broken wrist on right. They did not honor the price I reserved my room for on the internet. I will not stay there again. I go to meetings there often but will access another hotel.
