Hotel was very nice and the staff was great. The rooms have the 'industrial motif', but were spacious and comfortable. The rooftop pool was very relaxing during the day and it was a very hopping bar at night. Not alot of restaurants/activities in the immediate area - it's a small walk to downtown - but the staff provided a lift to and from many of the busier and busy parts of the downtown and uptown area.

Great location in downtown Dallas. I booked same day and when I arrived they said they didn't have a room available, so I was upgraded to a suite for free! (And here I thought that only happened in the movies!) the only negative thing I could say is that you do have to pay to park. $10 to self park, but that is the cheapest that I found for surrounding hotels. Overall a great place!

The staff was very friendly and a few were very knowledgeable about the history of the hotel. I wish there had been some info in our room about the history and things located in the same area.
We did not know that there would be construction during our stay. We were not really bothered by it other than our last breakfast there. The breakfast was very delicious and wait staff very friendly.
Although the rooms were very small it was a good experience and I would love to stay again and check out the remodel.

The hotel presents with sophistication and elegance, while the staff is capable, helpful, and friendly. However, the menu choices differed from the menu for room service and the actual restaurant. Access to the courtesy car was extremely helpful when getting to and sometimes from the American Airlines Center. Also important to me was the provision to be driven to the airport by one of the hotel vehicles at a price more reasonable that taking a taxi. The price was a flat rate. The driver was courteous. In addition, drivers for the Fairmont Hotel Courtesy car were very courteous. The concierge was extremely helpful in facilitating transportation and storage of baggage. Finally the gift shop was excellent. In a perfect world, more counter space in the bathroom would have been nice.

Like everything in Texas, downtown Dallas is big. Fortunately, downtown’s zones make it easy to explore. The city’s art museum, symphony, and Dallas World Aquarium reside in the Arts District. West End’s Elm Street marks the spot where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. The Sixth Floor Museum chronicles this dark day. Deep Ellum, east of downtown, is Dallas’ main nightlife hub.
