Clean and modern room Hotel safe was broken Could hear everything through the adjoining door including snoring.

Conveniently located downtown Detroit

Pros: Location
Cons: Free continental breakfast
Location: Great locaion
When I was checking in there was a little line and I had to use the bathroom. I asked one of the security staff was there a bathroom in the lobby and told me that I would have to have a room key to access the lobby bathroom. I asked him could he give me a key, however he ignored me. Also they charge you for the continental breakfast in the morning. Only coffee is free

Could be better

This hotel is in a good location, but that's about it. We checked in and they didn't have the room we reserved months ago. The staff said they couldn't do anything about it because we booked through Expedia. They said if we booked through Marriott directly then they could of helped us. The room was clean, but very basic for almost $300 a night. The tv was blurry and there was a flickering light in the shower that could of induced a seizure. View was decent of the water and Canada. Bed was comfortable. Thermostat worked poorly. Room was too hot. I called the front desk and they said in November that heat is all they have and just shut the unit off and hope it cools down. Couldn't believe the lack of help I was getting for a Marriott. I'm usually accustomed to better service. Luckily, the window opened a little to let some cold air in, which helped. Overall, I would say that this was a cheap Holiday Inn equivalent, with a huge price tag. I've stayed at 3 star hotels way nicer than this one with much friendlier staff. If you have to stay here for the location, then that's fine, but if you have other options stay somewhere else.

Under Construction

Be advised that the lobby is under construction. The normally delicious breakfast is vastly diminished and is stuffed into a conference room with very little selection. I recommend finding somewhere else for breakfast.

Nice Hotel....A few areas of opportunity

Pros: it was convenient, although it's located right by the highway...so there's a lot of outside noise.
Cons: Hire friendlier people Do a better job at cleaning
Experience was good. I needed an affordable hotel for the night for a meeting I was attending. Price was right. Representative who checked me in was awesome..very nice, friendly, bubbly. Room was ok...the little things seemed to be missed. Example...there were strands of hair in quite a few places. The knob on the show was broken. You had to really press it in order to turn on the shower or turn it off. The representative when i was checking out was HORRIBLE. Didn't ask me a thing about my stay, didn't smile, wasn't friendly, nothing. Didn't invite me back, didn't offer me breakfast, nothing.

In the Heart of the Motor City

The views were amazing! The hotel had it's own eateries, shops, and was connected to the Renaissance Center and other buildings by a sky-walk. My family and I LOVED taking the People Mover to different sites and walking around town. Comerica Park, Hockey Town Cafe on The Roof and the fountain were a couple of our favorite spots. A wonderful restaurant with a fantastic view was Iridescence on the 16th floor or the Motor City Casino. It was pricey, but the experience was worth it!

Weekend getaway

Location: You can ride the people mover from the hotel to all major attractions downtown.
Nice hotel downtown within walking distance to alot of fun things.

Great staff, quick check in, large spacious room. A no brainer when it comes to looking for a nice hotel in downtown Detroit.
