Lovely little hotel not to far from downtown

Hotel was good with that old fashioned feel, but nice. Rooms were decent, beds were comfortable. Was only 5 minute drive to downtown. Staff were friendly. Restaurant had a wonderful menu. Valet was always readily available.

Very friendly staff. Clean and tidy room. Close to Cobo center for TKD Championship. Good stay.

Nice hotel/good location

Nice hotel and was a good location for our stay. We came into town for one evening to see a baseball game. The Q Line was very convenient to be able to take right from hotel to stadium. The rooms were a little dark and the shower water pressure wasn't very good and took about 15-20 minutes for the water to heat up. There was a domestic dispute on our floor that evening/early morning hours and had to call security. It was pretty bad. Security was there quickly and escorted them from the hotel. Other than that, stay was good for what we were there for.

Broken air conditioning unit

Pros: Location
Cons: Room cleanliness and a working air conditioning unit.
The hotel itself is decent and the location was perfect for our trip. However, the air conditioning unit in our room was not working. I placed several calls to the front desk and was advised that they would be sure to send the maintanence man to fix it once he was in. I assume he never showed up to work, because our issue was never addressed. The only thing the front desk offered was a box fan that essentially blew around the stale air of the room. Upon checking out they did take care of my valet fee for the inconvenience. However, a room upgrade, or an acutal attempt to fix the unit would've been much more appreciated. Not to mention made for a much more comfortable stay.

Average hotel terrible staff

The hotel room was clean and comfortable, so if this is your priority I would tell you to book it if you aren't looking for a a more expensive higher star option. However, the staff at this establishment were extremely unprofessional, unfriendly and incompetent. Not one person greeted my friend and I staying here every time we walked in and out. They didn't even make eye contact. One day we were waiting to be helped at the front desk to change to a king bed (booked a king bed and got a full size and paid same price!!) the woman named Chelsi was so overwhemeled speaking to someone on the phone making rude faces for them to hurry up. When she finally was able to help us she wasn't helpful at all and kept telling us to give her 10 mins, which turned into 20, to 40 to 3 hours. Finally we called her from our room to see if she switched us yet and she put us on hold then hung up the phone. When we called her back to tell her to call us when it's changed she was acting all frantic and never called us back. If you want to stay in a hotel with all incompetent employees then stay here.

It was convenient to where my son's graduation was

Pros: I liked the look of a old grand hotel.
Cons: microwave and refrigerators in the guest rooms.
The stay was nice, however, there were no amenities such as refrigerator or microwave in the rooms because they wanted you to come to their restaurant. It was not convenient late at night. Also the toilet seat was broke

No heat No warm water Great Staff

We stayed there in May. It was in the 40's at night. The room was very cold and were told the heat wasn't on and gave us a space heater. We asked if we could switch rooms and we did and still used the space heater. The water also never heated up. So we took cold showers before graduation. Our first room had a refrigerator and a phone charger and the second one didn't. Also the cable outlet was coming out of the wall. It is an old building, but why charge prices of the updated hotels in the area. The service was WONDERFUL. The VALET people were WONDERFUL. Those people made the stay better.

Good location, comfortable, traditional

Location next to New Center was perfect for us. Room very comfortable, staff very helpful. When calling uber, my phone knew that our room was nearer to the back of the hotel.than the front , so entered the wrong address, which I did not notice. Doorman resolved the problem.

The overall stay was good, however a few notes when turning on the shower the pipes raddle the walls so bad i thought they were going to burst. We had breakfast at the resturant and dispite my two friends and myself being the only ones there it took forever to get our food.
