nice hotel downtown

Posted Jan 10, 2018
Pros: location
Cons: outlets to plug in vehicles in lot across the street
Location: go to a hockey game :P
nice hotel but its unfortunate we had to park in overflow parking across the street due to the size of our vehicle. there was also no where to plug in the vehicle in -30 weather.

Hi Rhonda, I'm happy to hear you were able to enjoy the Hockey game! The hotels close proximity to Rogers Place and the Ice District make it easy to get anywhere from here. We are working to remedy the situation you mentioned in your review, Thanks again for staying and providing your feedback

One night's stay was probably enough.

Posted Jan 8, 2018
Pros: The rate was good, the location was convenient for the one night we stayed.
Cons: Cleanliness. Light. Fix AC.
Location: Lots of restaurants and night life nearby/walking distance.
My girlfriend's and I stayed at the Chateau Lacombe back in the spring, and the experience was actually better this time around. When we stayed back in the spring of last year, the fire alarm went off, we had to scramble down 10 flights of stairs with no one to let us know what was going on or where to go. We ended up getting locked outside. Didn't get back to our room for an hour. Needless to say, it wasn't an ideal visit. This time around, our room had a lovely view of the river, but the room itself was filthy. There were sequins on the floor (probably from someone's dress on NYE?), the bathroom tub was clearly not cleaned out and the duvet covers were wrinkled as if they'd been sat on. The room was very dark and there was nowhere to plug in the lamp in the darkest corner of the room...it was just sitting there unplugged, serving no purpose. Also, the AC didn't work and the room was very warm all night long (surprising as it is the winter).

Very disappointing experience

Posted Jan 6, 2018
When I booked our room, I expected the new, modern room as advertised in the photos on the website. We were in an older, outdated room and my "river view" that we paid more for was more downtown and parking garage with a bit of river. The loud construction noises that started at 10am forced us out of the hotel faster as it wasn't conducive to relaxation after a few days of tiring travel. I had also booked a table for la rhound resturant and planned a whole evening around the dinning experience. When we got to the hotel, there were signs posted everywhere that the resturant was closed. There was no information like that on open table and I still never received any information from anyone that my reservation would not be honored. We were very disappointed. We mentioned the reservation at check in and the lady at the front said she would let someone know but no one ever spoke to us. The stay was an average stay but our expectations were alot more when we booked and from reviews from family who absolutely loved their stay. I wish we could have had the same experience.

Room was a great size only thing was we didn’t have a fridge nor a kettle to heat some water to have tea...not sure if only select rooms have these amenities but there was a spot for where the fridge should go?

Hotel close to Roger's Centre for hockey games

Posted Jan 5, 2018
Cons: Put a microwave and a bar fridge in the rooms
Location: Hockey stadium for Oilers games.
Could walk to stadium from the hotel. The hotel has pay parking, but booking through Expedia saved us the parking fees. Did not get to partake of the revolving restaurant on the 24th floor as it was closed for renovation. The rooms are rather small and would like to have had two queen beds in a room rather than doubles.
