Poor neighborhood, noisy rooms

Posted Oct 26, 2017
Cons: mattress too old, wear down at middle
Hotel is located at a very noisy and run down neighborhood. No small shops around, but close to central station, and bit far from Rhone. No cup in the room, bathroom can be cleaner. Had to carry heavy luggage up 6 stair steps to get to lobby; not so easy for ladies. Front desk staff was courteous and allowed us to check in three hours ahead without extra charge.

Great hotel in very poor environment

Posted Sep 24, 2017
Pros: Its cleanliness, friendliness, efficiency and choice of continental breakfast.
Cons: Nothing, apart from the location.
Location: Close to restaurants, all forms of transport, good proximity to the lake and within walking distance of the old town.
The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean and comfortable. The drawback was the hotel being on the edge of the red light district, which changed character at night. We particularly appreciated the free travel card, for all forms of public transport throughout the city, which was given to us when checking in at the hotel.

Beware, this is the red light district

Posted Sep 4, 2017
Location: This is in the middle of a loud and dirty part of Geneva
The hotel is clean inside, and the people working the desk are friendly and helpful. I would have given this hotel a 4 star rating if it were just located somewhere else. I had an early morning flight out of Geneva and wanted to stay close to the train station. I chose this hotel because it was a few blocks away from the train station, reasoning that it would be quieter than the hotels adjacent to the station. Only after arriving did I learn that this hotel is in the middle of a red light district. There was noise throughout the night, and even when I left for the train at 6am the next morning there were still large crowds of drunkards and those who work in that district.

Terrific deal for new building and friendly staff

Posted Aug 14, 2017 on Hotels
We were astoundingly impressed. Small room, but very efficient layout that maximized the space, with room for two to use an end table along with the chair to sit side by side at the small desk and consult our devices. Very comfortable bed, and extra pillow. Super clean, a relatively new construction with perfect sound insulation when the windows were closed. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Some have noted that the neighborhood is iffy, which is true: it is Geneva's red-light district. But it is still super safe, and otherwise a very lively, multi-cultural neighborhood. At the price, this hotel is a real deal!

Over-rated, have stayed in better 3 star hotels

Posted Jun 7, 2015
Pros: Central location, close to the train station and not far from the harbour. Helpful staff. There were glasses provided in the room, not plastic cups.
Cons: Decor, air conditioning, TV, window sound-proofing.
Location: Central location, close to the harbour. Good stores and restaurants if you head west.
We were there for one night and booked it through the Expedia unpublished rate hotels. It was advertised as a 4 star, but we've stayed in better 3 star hotels. Central location, but one block into the area where prostitutes work . Our room overlooked a noisy street and the air conditioning couldn't keep up with the heat. The room was small, decor was dated and laminate chipped. Staff were friendly and efficient but breakfast and wifi prices were high. While TV would not usually be an issue, we watched some of the French Open tennis and the TV was small and it was hard to see the ball, so would guess it was not HD. Would give it 2-3 star rating.
