Great place to stay in historic downtown GDL.

Posted Aug 23, 2017
Pros: The location was the best what I liked, comfort and cleanliness was also great.
Cons: Customer service can be improved. I like to be acknowledged not just ignored. I now it gets busy sometimes, but please let us know that.
Location: There are many things to do, shopping, museums, great cafes and good restaurants.
Once there access to a lot of historic places, was great. Nice restaurants, eateries and public transportation. Teatro Degollado is a must see. Very pleasant stay in this hotel.

Hotel De Mendoza Guadalajara Centro

Posted Jul 24, 2017
Pros: The bell boy Benito was very nice and helpful.
Cons: stop the room leaks, fix the elevator, and at least replace my laptop.
Location: the location is good and near everything!
The condition of this hotel is terrible starting with the elevators! There was a storm at night and the room started leaking!!! I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the restroom and I slipped in a puddle of water from the leak, my laptop was soaked! I immediately contacted the service desk and they sent someone over right away but they did not do anything!!! I didn't even get an apology for my fall or my laptop getting soaked wet! Never again staying here.

couldn't have asked for better location.

Pros: the fact that it was clean and quiet.
Cons: uniforms! yes, the hotel seems to resemble part of the saint peter's square in the vatican, but "casual" might add an appeal to a younger crowd.
Location: centro historico. what more can i say? the best!
LOVED IT! as the impatient new yorker that i have become, time was of issue for me. everything i did in town and the hotel - pretty much - matched the demands of my own schedules ... and more. i managed to entertain guests at the restaurant one day, as well as family members by the pool. fabulous. i was impressed by the friendliness of the hotel's staff. i had to remind myself that i was in guadalajara; a common behaviour to see the place over. again, location to me was key. attended an event at teatro: two minute walk, superb! met friends at cabañas: seven minute walk. again, am a new yorker -- one who does not mind the distances and appreciates the surroundings. #perfect

Cheap, but bad choice..,dusty and outdated.

Posted May 13, 2017 on Hotels
Stayed here for t2nights. Room was dusty, tired and outdated from the '50s. No fridge. Dirty and stained carpets. There was an ice bucket in the room, so I assumed there must be a machine. WRONG. You had to go to the restaurant to retrieve it. The first day arrived late so I didn't see much. The second day I took bus tour and returned exhausted but underwhelmed. I decided to stay another night to give the city another chance...and inquired about the price at the front desk. Was told it had increased since I arrived (now this was for a Sunday night...so why more expensive than Friday and Saturday?), and it was also much higher than what hotels.com quoted me for this same night.. They refused to negotiate. Moreover, that night I had the worse asthma attack in a long time because of the dustiness of the room. I also didn't feel all that safe in Guadalajara, although I have traveled throughout Mexico extensively for the past 4-5 months. I really wanted to have another day there to enjoy the pool, but I ultimately decided it was time to move on after the staff interaction, dirt, and just not feeling safe in the area. Cheap, but highly overrated. I would never stay here again, even if I return to Guadalajara. Also, the view from room was horrible...I faced a wall.. The only good thing was that it was centrally located, but I heard many stories of people being mugged in the area lately. Also, they charged me 100 pesos more to get to the airport than google suggested..
