Sold as more than it was

I landed on the Whitehall because it said it was a modern hotel. There was almost nothing modern about it. The bathrooms had forest green wallpaper. There are a lot of areas in the rooms that need tlc. Just knicks and dings everywhere making them look like they're not well maintained. I went for the Astros parade and they didn't think to open the bars in the hotel. When people started congregating they had service people working the bar only able to serve beer or wine. So there were lines and frustrated people everywhere. My room wasn't ready when I arrived so they said they would call me but never did so I just went back after the parade. The restaurant inside was actually pretty good and I would recommend it.

Close to Downtown and Midtown

Nice hotel

Booked this hotel via Expedia based on reviews on arrival staff were great and check was quick and easy. Complimentary shuttle second available if needed was a nice touch and two free bar drinks tokens. First impression of hotel lobby was lovely and modern. Room was nice, spacious, comfortable bed. Felt the bathroom was a little small and the furnishings were a little dated, could be a bit better. Otherwise ok for our stay. Room service were great no problems there. Only problem with the hotel is the location, which we weren't really aware of till we arrived, the hotel is definitely more of a business type of hotel, we saw no other people there on vacation and is in the middle of the business district which we hadn't realised so was kind of a negative. Found it quite difficult to find any shops just for snacks or drinks nearby. The restaurant on the hotel was great, had dining there twice and the food was great and staff lovely. Great looking bar outside of the hotel looked great but really is full of business people for after work - which we discovered, went for a drink prior heading out for the Astros game and it was full of business people felt very much out of place and uncomfortable to be honest Overall good hotel great if on business but maybe if on vacation try a different hotel.

Very nice but noisy

Walls are very thin therefore you hear neighboring noise which is unpleasant at times but overall a very nice place to stay.

Nice hotel & location. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Few small issue in the room but nothing major. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice place to stay

I will say my only complaint is I’ve never been a fan of hotels that’s didn’t offer self parking. I had a couple of relatives stop by to visit and they were not too fond of the vallet only parking for $8.

Great customer service

That African American custome service guy at the lobby who works during night has done exceptional customer service. That's quite great. I love their customer service in the hotel. Hotel room is spatial but there is no fridge. Very small bathroom design. Also I think it was a bit of dusty. We called the houskeeeping department and was hung up by them free I got through. So I thought maybe this need to be worked on.

Was a great hotel experience - had never heard of this hotel but it certainly lived up to the media representation. Would - and will stay here again when in Houston.
