Lovely hotel

Really enjoyed our stay. Very relaxed feeling to the hotel. Beautiful lake views. Older, but well maintained and renovated hotel/rooms. Loved the spacious, grand hallways. Excellent food through room service. Very helpful/pleasant staff. Wonderful steak and service at the attached restaurant, The Chop House. Look forward to returning! Thank you.

Had to stay an extra night in Madison and booked here at last minute. Much nicer than our stay at HotelRed the night before. Should've booked this one from the start!

expedia snafu

They had no record of my Expedia reservation. They had no record of my Hilton honors number. The check in process took a half hour as the clerk got the manager and the computer failed and one problem followed another with check in. The room was clean. The bathroom very small but quite acceptable in function. The bar is good as is the food. The location is perfect for my purposes and walking to most restaurants is simple. I stay there frequently, and would use it again. One does have to get used to the noisy in room heater / AC. Unit tho.

Hotel does not match the vlaue spend

Pros: On the lake and close to city center
Cons: The cleaness of the roon and inclues sevices like breakfact and parking free on the value . The fitenesss room is very small .

This is the first visit for me to Madison; the hotel does not provide a service which match the value spend. I will not reserve my hotel using Expedia.

Worse experience at a Hilton

Cons: Everything.
I usually like staying at Hiltons. When in a new city I can depend on their quality. This one was the worse ever. Check in took forever. The lobby smelled like bottle of Axe exploded. We thought maybe it was one of the other guest in line to check in but the smell never went away. The entire hotel is out dated and in need of remodeling. But our room was literally just a broke down mess. The bathroom door handle was broken. The refrigerator cabinet door was broken. The fridge was also dirty. Half the plug ins didn't work. And room was just dingy. It there were no other rooms so we stayed...I can live with most things. The air conditioner was so loud that we finally just jacked up the temp to get it turn off so we could sleep. Not that you could cancel all the noise, we could every thing that happened in the hallway, next door and above us. I felt like we were staying in the worlds most expensive trailor, complete with 1970's window air unit. but we stayed because the location was good. There was nothing good about this hotel except the location and until the last day, the staff. Why until the last day? Because as we were ready to check out, we called down for the valet to get our car. We sat outside with all of our baggages waiting for 20 mins. Finally, we checked at the front desk again, no one was at the valet, to see what was taking so long. They hadn't even gone to get our car....they just said oh we haven't sent anyone out yet, sorry. Really? Complete fail!

Hotel with a view

Comfortable room, nicely appointed. Lske view. STaff was courteous. On site Dinner restaurant but pricey so we used the courtesy shuttle to eat elsewhere. A good stay! The underground parking is tight and not free but that was the only downer.

Good choice but overpriced.

Pros: location, staff
Cons: renovate, update A/C, clean better (e.g., windows)
Location: next capitol, lots of restaurants and bars around
Great location, great staff. But rooms are old and outdated. The A/C was old and noisy and the air felt unclear and dusty. Overall, it is an ok choice but certainly overpriced.

Pros: Location to Capital & restaurants etc.
Cons: Serve coffe in the am to your guests....every Mariott I can remember staying at always has hot coffee service in the waiting area.
Location: good food, shops
Long lines to check in. No coffee in the lounge area in the am. Hotel staff had some issues w/ rude guests.. Also don't have Jose power washing the brick pavers w/ a 500 hp high pressure washer the entire morning....you couldn't go outside & the noise inside was almost as loud....VERY ANNOYING & this was at like9am!!
