I had a nice view, but to get into my room was awful. The door was stripped so I had to push and kick to open my door. The staff was not friendly at all. The service on the restaurant was very disappointed. I would not stay there again.

Environmental concern

Posted Nov 5, 2017
Pros: The front desk, bell service, lay out, room were great.
Cons: Housekeeping needs to actually clean rooms. I found a sock in the closet when I unpacked from the previous guest.
Location: Beale streat
Put up the green sign so I could reuse my towels. Housekeeper made me sign a form. the result was i received no service. did not replenish coffee tray, toilet paper, kleenex or make bed. waited 45 minutes to receive food at lunch. Club lounge was small; not enough tables and chairs. Tried to have a meeting in there after breakfast. the staff person was so loud talking on her phone the whole time she was cleaning and setting up we stopped. Since the room is open for club level guests had another guest been talking loudly on the phone that would be his/her right. A staff worker having a long (20-30 min) loud personal call should not have happened.

Posted Oct 20, 2017
We always look for rooms with club lounge access and this the first one where we have had to pay for alcohol. We are not big drinkers but i was surprised. The food was great ,nice variety ,the staff very friendly and accommodating. Our rooom was great nice linen comfy bed. Front desk always helpful.

Ok but not great for tourists

Posted Oct 15, 2017
This hotel seemed to cater to business people having meetings or convention goers but not tourists. It is in walking distance to Beale St if you can walk 1/2 mile but I had back surgery recently that made walking difficult. When I asked questions of staff I got an answer but not the best and not all of the staff were friendly. Eg STAX Records is out of the way and I was told to call Uber. Turns out that for 3.50 you can get an all day pass on transit that allowed me to take a trolley in front of the hotel to a terminal and then one bus to STAX and back and then ride the trolley to Beale area as many times as I wanted. The trolley is only 1.00 without the all day pass but if I had stayed in the center of the tourism area, I could have walked to most places except STAX and Graceland. Also I found other hotels offer shuttle service incl from the airport which The Sheridan did not. The first day maid service was bad as no one cleaned our room all day and we were left with no toilet paper. We called and we received immediate help and the same maid took care of us from then on. the big thing is that it’s not close to even a breakfast restaurant. So if you are a tourist you’d be better off closer to the center of the downtown area but if you have a car or are planning a business meeting, this hotel should be fine.

Good location

Posted Oct 14, 2017
Pros: It was close to the interstate and on the Memphis trolley line,It was also easy walking distance to many attractions. It was less than $200 a night.
Cons: Free parking would be nice, but a lot to expect from a city center hotel!
Location: Beale street is a short walk away, as is the Bass Pro Shop pyramid. The trolley stops right outside the hotel .For $1 a ride you can go many places.
we needed a hotel for one night on our way home from a vacation, and we chose this hotel based on where it is located.

Very Good hotel with easy access to beale st

Posted Oct 13, 2017
Stayed for 3 nights following one at graceland. No problems - definitely go for a club room for inclusive breakfast and evening snacks. Parking bit steep at 26 dollars a night but hey it is in the city. In hindsight would probably have stayed 2 nights and spent the extra day in nashville but just my opinion. Overall the hotel was great

Could use improvements

Posted Oct 3, 2017
Pros: Big lobby and bar area; location
Cons: Friendlier service
I expected more for the money. This is a big convention hotel, which may explain the generic service. Staff should receive courtesy training, especially not to talk over a guest when she/he is making a polite request. I was surprised that we had plumbing issues in our bathroom that required a visit from the maintenance crew. Bar/restaurant staff was friendly, although a little confused at times. Hotel facilities are OK, but could be updated.

Beale Street Blues and Ryan Adams...perfect

Posted Oct 2, 2017
Pros: Locale, cleanliness, close to Beale Street. Lyft and Uber make this town one of the Best
Cons: Fix shower!
Location: Beale Street, Sun Studio, and Orpheum A+, rest of Memphis really strange lots of buildings but NO CARS or signs of life:)
Downtown Sheraton was excellent, staff was great, room was nice and bed was amazing. shower leaked, otherwise perfect score
