Fab-u-lous Peabody

Posted Jan 15, 2018
Pros: Comfort and class
Cons: Just keep the unique style
Location: Good location only a short walk to the 'Hub' of Beal Street, lots of bars and restaurants, also side streets where you can find hidden gems
We loved all of the elegance of the Peabody, the class of it all and the ducks are amazing walking down the red carpet is a real treat, we took the offer of an upgrade which was very good. We had a lovely room very comfortable bed and very spacious. So if you are visiting Memphis the Peabody is a unique experience, lots of style, not one of those minimalist hotels a hotel that still has a soul.

Historic but flawed...

Posted Jan 14, 2018
Pros: The ducks and the history!
Cons: Bathrooms could be brighter and there could be shower support bars and places to hang towels or clothing
Location: Beale St, Graceland
Check in was traumatic and slow! I don’t know the reason for hiring all the front desk ppl who can barely speak English but it made it impossible to understand what they were saying most of the time! A simple issue with our booking which we thought was sorted turned out NOT and cause some serious drama the next day! The concierge went above and beyond to make it better so thankful for that!

This is a wonderful old elegant hotel with updated amenities in the heart of Memphis. Love the ducks and learning g about the history of the hotel from the duck master. A real treat!

Hoped for a upscale experience - NOT !

Posted Dec 29, 2017
Waited 17 minutes for Valet to greet us upon arrival, then another 22 minutes waiting for a guest six places in front of me to finally finish check-in. From “drive up” to actually seeing the inside of my pre-reserved room 58 minutes elapsed! Our floor must have been designated “mandatory door slamming” floor because sleep was elusive.

Dear Steve, It is always a pleasure to hear from our guests, but it is disappointing when we do not meet their expectations. I apologize for the experience you had upon your arrival. I have forwarded your review to the appropriate departments and we are working to make improvements in these areas. Thanks again, Peabody Hotel Management

Not perfect , but OK

Cold room, heat not working. Hotel did the repairs within 60 minutes. Then 30 minutes to get a drink in the lobby bar. Their top restaurant, Chez Philippe, however, was excellent in all respects.

Amazing!!

We came to Memphis for a wedding and I somehow didn’t complete my booking. We went to the Westin and they were so rude at the front desk. They had no rooms. I ended up getting a room through Expedia for one night. We found out we had to switch hotels and we booked the Peabody. It was awesome. I told the bellman what happened and we had to be at the church in one hour. He grabbed our bags and raced our stuff to the room and said I will take care of them . He was great! Woke up the next morning and we had complementary tea and coffee in the coffee bar. The staff was excellent! We ended up eating breakfast in the resaraunt and it was 16.00 which I thought was very reasonably for a hotel of that caliber. It was delicious!!! Loved the Peabody Hotel!!!

Beautiful, historic hotel

Posted Dec 14, 2017
Pros: Loved the lobby, bar, and location.
Cons: I was surprised at the lack of amenities in the room; no mini-fridge, USB outlets, or even a coffee maker (most important!), especially for the price.
Location: Hotel was at the Start point of our race. The awesome BBQ and Beale Street were very close! We walked everywhere with no problems.
Loved staying at the Peabody for the annual St. Jude's Marathon Weekend! Beautiful hotel and extremely close to all of the weekend festivities that we participated in.

Dear Christopher, I’m sorry you were expecting more amenities in your guest room. For future reference, you can request a coffee maker be brought to your room. We hope to see you for the St. Jude Marathon next year. Thanks again, Scott Boucher Director of Hotel Operations
