Charming hotel but zero water pressure.

Posted Nov 13, 2017
Pros: The charm and convenience to the city.
Cons: Have standard shower heads on hand when requested. Don't have maid service knock on your door at 7AM to tell you they'll be back at 11.
Location: Centrally located to many attractions and walking distance to most things. Highly recommend using Uber, the taxi's are sketchy.
The hotel was quaint and the staff was nice, but don't expect to take a quick shower and rush out to see the city. There was very low water pressure and you had to let the water run for 15 minutes to get any hot water. However, the others with us said they did not have that problem in their room right next door so go figure. It may have been partly due to timing because the ones taking night showers had no real issues except pressure, but morning showers were slow to heat and very low pressure. Unfortunately the rooms had the rain shower heads compounding the low water pressure issue. It took forever to take a shower and get the shampoo out of your hair. That said the restaurant had an interesting and delicious buffet breakfast and the hotel is right on a strip of shops and restaurants downtown. You are also conveniently within walking distance to beautiful old churches and buildings rich with old world architecture. I would stay here again, but if I do I will bring my own shower head to replace theirs for my stay. Some people may like the spring shower effect, I prefer more focused water to shower quickly so that I can get out and see the attractions.

Bad experience

Posted Nov 7, 2017
Pros: Nothing this time around
Cons: Better communication and for all the paper work to be in order
I had the most terrible experience at the hotel. I was there 3 months ago and that was fine. This time the front staff was very rude and did not know how to handle my reservation. They were not professional at all. Very disappointed with the stay. I had a room next to the service room therefore was at lot of noise during the morning hours and late at night. They kept forgetting to leave towels in the room. One night something was trying to get into my room. Nothing was done. When I checked out the staff was trying to charge me extra for a night that was already paid for. I am not happy with this stay at all.

Right downtown and super clean, with great staff

Posted Sep 30, 2017
Pros: Everything.
Cons: There is a dog who barks at dawn. Whoever owns that dog needs to be spoken to. Same dog, two mornings in a row. Incessant barking for an hour.
Location: The center of the center. It doesn't get better than this, for such a reasonable price and such great service. Sooooo clean.
This hotel is located right on one of Mexico City's famed pedestrian streets, which leads directly to the Zocalo - Francisco I Madero. You couldn't ask for a better location, with great restaurants, museums, shops and the thrill of being in the one of the largest urban centres in the world, right at your feet. The staff here is excellent and extremely helpful. In the morning, there's a generous breakfast buffet with very nice food, fresh juices, fresh fruit and coffee. There's also a small bar with a super friendly staff. Need a ride somewhere? Ask for Carnido. Awesome dude.

The location and the name are good but that is all

To get in and out with luggage was a pain the doors have a gap that you can see into the room and looks insecure , in the shower it's very easy to slip and fall ,some of the walls show some hairline cracks from the latest earthquake , only one way out and hope not to be in the end of the maze like hallways hope you get the point.

Great hotel, great location, great staff

Pros: Great hotel, old but neat. They are working on it and it looks really nice
Cons: The only thing was that there's no AC at the room and it can get really warm !!!
Location: Great location, tons of things to do nearby. Walking distance to supermarkets, restaurants, shopping stores, historical places.
I had an excellent experience, I'll definitely recommend it !!!! I'll be considering it for my next trip !!!!

A Pleasant Surprise

Posted Sep 15, 2017
Pros: The staff and their service and the room.
Cons: The mattress were quite hard.
Location: Right downtown and close to everything.
We arrived late at night and were pleasantly surprised with our room. The lobby of the hotel is rather old looking but our room was modern and very clean. The bathroom had been refurbished - had a beautiful rain shower with lots of hot water and pressure. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent location

Good , but only check in starts too late 3 pm and arrive at 1100 and had to wander around to make some time. Despite the wait time staff was always accesible and helpful and location was very convenient you didn't have to take a taxi you were at walking distance of restaurants and shops.

I wasn't happy with the service due to wifi connectivity and bathroom water leaking. The noise from neighbors was very bad. Unable to sleep. Over all okay for a short stay due to a funeral attendance.
