2 Star Hotel camouflaged as a 4 star!!Posted Mar 14, 2018
The Doubletree “Grand” Hotel only has two receptionists so you have to wait. The room smelled of sewage. We only had 2 washcloths and the reservations were for 3. I called to request an additional a washcloth and to report the smell the concierge replied so you need a washcloth no mention of the smell nor an apology. The washcloth never came I had to go get it from housekeeping. The cords for the television, mini refrigerator and who knows what else was in plain sight coming out of the floor, extremely tacky. Chipped paint, cold tile floors, brown old paint; an unfortunate experience and I’m grateful it was only for one night. The smell was awful!! (This isn’t spellchecked or proofread)

Great room, Nice view. Location is convenientPosted Mar 10, 2018
We stayed one night in a double bed room with “park view” on the 7th floor. The room was really nice. You could tell they recently renovated the hotel areas. The view was amazing at night and the next morning. The location is just close enough to walk downtown to the arena. Will stay again in the future

Beautiful views of the bay!Posted Mar 7, 2018
Room service was a joke. They wouldn’t take breakfast orders over the phone, even though we didn’t get a menu card to hang on our door at night. They said to call housekeeping for the door tag. Housekeeping didn’t have any in stock... they brought a menu. When I convinced Room Service to please allow me to place a breakfast order for the next day, I couldn’t have it delivered before 7:30 as the staff doesn’t arrive until 7am. Not convenient for business trips!

Great location, right on the harbor. Great views.Posted Mar 5, 2018
Pros: Location, staff
We were upgraded from a Junior Suite to a 1 bedroom apartment on our first stay. Was greatly appreciated. Great location. Grocery store nearby. Close to tour buses & trolleys.

Not really an upgrade...Posted Feb 16, 2018
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and the location was great for getting to the offices I was meeting at. The staff was friendly as well.
Cons: Cleanliness of the room, security, and working utilities.
Location: It's right in downtown Miami, so anything you could want is a quick Uber ride away.
When I checked into the hotel, I was informed I had been upgraded to a condo. I was pretty ambivalent about this since I was only staying for a couple of nights, but it ultimately became more of a nuisance than anything. First of all, the condo had sliding doors in the bedroom that opened on to a public pool deck, which made the room feel a little exposed even with the floor to ceiling curtains. On top of that, the sliding doors in the living room didn't really lock, but relied on a flimsy piece of metal to prop the door closed. It didn't really feel secure, even though I knew I'd be fine. Additionally, the room really needed some upkeep. The finishes and furniture were alright but it just felt a bit dingy, like it hadn't received the same attention in cleaning a smaller room might have. Small things began to add up like, the tv in the bedroom didn't have working cable, and the it had pretty severe burn-in from a cable news channel anyway. The most frustrating thing however (this being a work trip) was that the outlets in the bedroom did not work properly. The top outlet in each panel did not have power so I had to unplug lamps and spread out my electronics all over the room to get them charged. To top it all off, I found a roach on my way out the door to check out. With some TLC it would have been a nice suite, and I would have appreciated it. However, all of the details added up to a couple of fairly uncomfortable nights.

Good location and family friendly but needs workPosted Feb 15, 2018
Overall the location was good and family friendly but we had some - pool heaters were broken so couldn’t use the pool - there was a power outage so certain items Off the room service menu were not available - we had an adjoining room and you could hear everything from the room next to us through the adjoining door ... had to call the front desk and 2am to get them To ask the partying ladies next door to be quiet The hotel staff were responsive to our concerns and gave us a credit on the room rate and an apology which was very nice and appreciative.

Van MorrisonPosted Feb 10, 2018
Overnighted in Miami for the only east coast appearance of Van Morrison. Upgraded to a bay view room with balcony. It was nice, concert was great.
