superior service and comfort

Pros: The staff goes out of their way to provide a friendly, courteous, and professional welcome, as well as outstanding service.
The Marquette Hotel is a wonderful blend of luxury and comfort. Rooms are large and well-appointed, with terrific beds, nice lounging chairs, and bright lamps (a rarity in hotel rooms). I love the combination of stylishness and relaxed atmosphere.

Perfect downtown hotel

Our first visit to Minneapolis and our stay at the Marquette Hotel was a great choice. The location is right in the heart of the city and allowed us to walk all over downtown. The hotel is located close to all the major sports venues ( we went to two Twins baseball games) and many restaurants and pubs, and many of the historical sites (Stone Arch Bridge along the river, the Mill Museum and the Foshay Tower. It is also only a few blocks from the Light Rail system which was very convenient since we travel a number of times on it including to and from the airport, to and from the Mall of America, and to and from visiting downtown St Paul. The Marquette Hotel recently had a total makeover so the rooms are very new and modern. Our room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very modern with a large stall shower. The hotel staff (especially George at the front desk) was very friendly and accommodating. They were as nice and helpful as we could possibly expect. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant ( we normally prefer eating at local places in the various neighborhoods when we travel), so the staff gave us some great local places for breakfast nearby. The hotel also had a nice business room with computers so we were able to print our boarding passes very easily. Our experience at the Marquette was wonderful, and we would stay there again if we are able to come back to Minneapolis.

First trip to Minneapolis

The hotel was in a great location. Close to shopping and restaurants. There was no "gift shop" for incidentals. Also the rooms were too warm, not only mine, but the rest of the people in my group. My room never cooled off even after I had maintenance come check it out.

Labor Day Weekend Stay

My friend and I stayed here for two nights for a little weekend getaway. The front desk staff was nice and our room was great. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice Hotel but screwed up the booking

Stayed for 2 nights over labor day weekend. Very nice hotel and staff, but apparently Expedia and the hotel don't communicate properly. I booked a King Corner Joliet/Alcove but was given a standard room. When I brought this up to staff, they kindly moved me to a King corner (bc they didn't have any of what I booked on Expedia open). It was a lovely room, but not quite what I was hoping for. Also the special booking came with access to the private lounge, which was closed during the entire stay. All in all, a nice place, but I would call and confirm your booking with the hotel to ensure you're getting what you paid for.

beautiful updated hotel. staff needs training

Pros: Nicely updated. Nice location in city.
Cons: staffing needs to be better trained. bride promised hotel bar open until 2, and last call was at 11:30.
Location: in center of downtown minneapolis. nicollet mall being redone right now, but lots of restaurants nearby.
stayed overnight for a wedding. hotel is recently updated and is lovely. front desk staff did not know any details of wedding. information, which bride and groom had discussed with hotel personel earlier. free breakfast was nice, but hot food not really hot and restaurant staff kept asking us for a card from front desk and the front desk staff and told us just to show them out room key.

Very nice stay for the vikings game. Ordered room service late and was one of the best pizza's I have ever had. Very clean and updated room.
