Central location

The staff were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The room and facilities were very nice, clean and comfortable. Concierge service was also great - all their recommendations were spot on! We would definitely stay with them in the future! Thanks for a great stay.

Cons: The hotel charge for storing baggage. Not expensive (CAD$2/baggage), but this is the first time that a hotel charges me for storing baggage.
I think the overall experience at Fairmont is wonderful. This is a nicely renovated hotel and the small market (Artisan) in the hotel is very attractive. The room is not big but comfortable enough. Wifi coverage is very good. The facilities in the gym are nice too. Underground connection to the metro and to shopping centres.

hotel close to downtown

this hotel is close to downtown. As part of the Fairmont chain get a membership so that you can use other hotels in this world class chain for further savings. We stayed at a Fairmont hotel in Bermuda, same service and same quality.

Gold Experience

Posted Feb 16, 2018
If you are staying at the Fairmont Elizabeth, I strongly recommend upgrading your experience to the Fairmont Gold, you won’t regret it. You have an easier check in and check out; the staff is incredibly kind and hospitable and the rooms are cozy and decorated Art Deco style.

Good Hotel, nice to see it all finished renovations. All staff and facilities were great except the people at the restaurant who tried to rationalize why they needed to close the restaurant for an hour from 11am to noon while they converted over to lunch from breakfast menus (not even mcdonalds has to do that) and then they sent us, because we were 11:10 am looking for breakfast, down the street to "a breakfast place much better than ours".

Internet

Posted Feb 13, 2018
I can’t believe some hotels still feel it’s ok to charge for Internet It’s not the cost but the principle If you can go spend and afternoon at a coffee shop and have free wifi for a $2 coffee, You should be able to get free wifi at a hotel like The Fairmont

Dear SD- We're glad to learn your visit was most pleasant. That said we're sorry to hear the team did not offer you the different options regarding the Internet access. Thank you for your suggestion, which will be shared with our corporate office. Many thanks and warm regards.

Worth it, even better if you can find a discount

Posted Feb 12, 2018
Pros: ARTISANS, a wine-bar/artisanal food store. It's worth staying at the Queen Elizabeth just for this.
Cons: Make the WiFi free. In an age where WiFi is free everywhere else, trying to charge for it is arcane.
Arrived after 10pm. Found a still-functioning hotel, with helpful staff. Thanks to Air Canada, I had spent the previous three hours sitting on board an aircraft with one small bag of pretzels for dinner (emphasis on sitting, because for two of those three hours, that's what the plane was doing). Late night Montreal isn't what it used to be, so I found haven in the hotel's late-night bar, Nacarat (open till 1am), which even serves up some decent-sized snacks. All in all, the hotel is meticulously clean, and WORKS. There's a place to store your bags after you check out, the staff know where to find things (most things are in the underground-connected Place Ville Marie next door), and they're helpful without being snooty.

Pros: Location, location, location!
Cons: Check-in staff informing clients about amenities available.
Location: Excellent! Shopping closeby and also Bell Centre.
Excellent location. Above train station. Was not informed that a fridge would cost an extra $25.00 daily. A bar fridge was available but expensive.

A Quiet Weekend

Posted Feb 11, 2018
It was a great weekend of relaxation in Montreal. The newly renovated Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel has several redeeming new features including the marketplace, the Gold floor lounge and the substantial meeting space. The newly renovated bedrooms are dark blue (what I saw) and several of the rooms have bathrooms that are extremely small. Good central location unless you are using the Palais!
