Did not honor reservation

We arrived at this hotel and were told we'd cancelled our reservation which was untrue. Expedia had no record of any such cancellation. In fact, we'd been charged for the room. There was no room available and we had to stay in another hotel, which cost considerably more. Sofitel was not helpful and we will not be booking a room with them again.

Luxury hotel with really great service!

Pros: Excellent service! From the reception, valet and housekeeping. Though valet is a bit pricey at $37 per night plus tax, I would say it is so worth it
Cons: It would be nice to have an empty fridge available, as sometimes we prefer to bring our own drinks or food. The bar fridge was left untouched.
Location: St. Catherine - 5 min walk, Mount Royal lookout - 8 min drive, Old Montreal - 10 min drive, Casino Montreal - 15 min drive
We stayed at Sofitel Montreal on October 27-29, 2017. I have booked through Expedia and got a good deal using some of my Expedia points. When we got there, we were unexpectedly upgraded from superior to deluxe room which was really nice! The room has a king bed, lots of space, roomy closet and huge bathroom which has a separate tub and shower. We were at the 15th floor and has a good view of the city. There was also a couple of complimentary bottled water inside our room. We did not get to try the restaurant onsite, but I believe they are getting good reviews.

Good Location

The room was small (801) and bathroom was not very clean. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed we've ever slept in.

Excellent hotel in prime location

Cons: Chips on some glass tables in lobby, some towels were fraying at the edges, and my carpet was starting to detach from the room walls. Ice on 14 broken
I stayed for about 9 days on vacation, and the hotel staff were lovely, the room service was good, the location of the hotel is excellent (close to Metro, butts up against the park, near the Fine Arts Museum, great fine dining options), and I was very pleased. There are a few signs of beginning neglect that can be seen if you look very closely, and I hope the staff works on that. The time I was there, the ice machine on the 14th floor wasn't working, but I was able to get around that with the one on the 15th floor. I realize I listed a lot of negatives, but honestly, they weren't a huge deal.

Pros: Fairly modern, clean, comfortable. Reasonably priced.
Cons: Gym is quite small. No pool.
close to downtown, McGill University, and Mount Royal

Very nice hotel. Just a bit too far to walk and taxi's are expensive. Great staff . 22$ martini a bit much. No shop for bandaids and other daily things. Seemed a bit cramped in general. Studio,the staff made it a pleasant experience. Good value overall.

Lovely hotel steps from McGill and Mount Royal

Location: There are a number of fabulous restaurants very nearby. In particular, la Societe and Seville Dinerbar are well worth visiting.
This is our fourth stay at the Sofitel Golden Mile. Our experience was wonderful yet again. Staff are extremely accommodating. Hotel is clean and very well maintained. Location is very walkable.

Outstanding hotel in the downtown area

The staffs are very friendly and eager to help. The room is clean and the room is big. The hotel is well maintain and upkeep and location is excellent. Easy access to old town and all major activities

Nice modern hotel in great location

We stayed for two nights and found the location great. The valet service isn't prompt and the reception is overly busy, but everyone is pleasant and it was a nice stay.
