Perfect Hotel

Sofitel exceeded my expectations. The hotel itself is nice and inviting. Not much parking around it but the hotel offers valet parking and the valet staff are extremely welcoming and professional. Check in went fast and smoothly and our room itself blew my expectations, it had plenty of room and it wasnt just a standard typical room; had a living room with two tvs a view and the comfiest bed ever. The bathroom was amazing and my favorite part of the room; his and hers bathroom huge soaker tub and an amazing shower. I would definitely stay here everytime! Thank You Sofitel staff you guys were wonderful!

This hotel is well located, easy to access.

Pros: The location and the big room
Cons: The TV in the bedroom didn't work. As we love watching TV in our bedroom when we are in an hotel (we do not do it at home), this was very frustrating.
We were plased to get our room prior to checking time. We asked to be at a higher floor and we got it (17th floor). The view was great. The room was very spacious and clean.

Nice hotel in downtown

Great staff, clean hotel, comfortable beds. Loved our stay for our honeymoon there. Close to everything in downtown.

Lovely one night stay. Reservationists made us a upgrade from One bed to two. We loved our room. I’d compare it to a four seasons room for a quarter of the price. Bathrooms were expansive. Room service maybe needs a bit more variety but we made due with our one night stay! Front desk was accommodating when we were forced to re buy our paused movie. Room service staff was friendly as well as housekeeping. Hotel floors are very quiet and rooms are tucked away at each corner and private. Beds are extremely comfortable. I would stay here again- definitely.

Above and beyond expectations

Arrival to the front door to be greeted by valet started the trip off right. The hotel staff were very pleasant and as I was in town during a slower time, the front desk staff offered me a room upgrade. Very much appreciated. The whole room was very nice and easy to get to. Would definitely stay again!

Excellent Hotel in Downtown Montreal!

This hotel has the most amazing staff! From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warmth and showered with attention! Their attention to every detail is remarkable and the room was serviced twice a day. The restaurant, Renoir, serves an incredible breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Every bite was delicious no matter what we chose on the menu! We will definitely be returning because we are so delighted with our stay! Thank you Sofitel.

Staff is friendly and accommodating, room was beautiful and clean, location is great - walkable to many attractions. We were four adults in two rooms and were able to have neighbouring rooms, along with a surprise piece of birthday cake. We were also given a late checkout. No hassles on anything or issues at all. Overall it was a great stay and wonderful experience. Lots of happy memories. Stayed here on Nov 21, 2017, and would definitely return and recommend to others. Thank you Sofitel! (Rooms booked through the Expedia app.)

A luxury hotel?

Pros: Bed very comfortable, restaurant excellent
Cons: Free in-room friidge, instructions on room temperature, cofffee maker and inroom phone that work.
Location: Great location to explore Montreal whiich was good since I had to get away from the frustrations at the hotel.
As someone who travels frequently, was looking forward to the Sofitel in Montreal. I was aware that it was viewed as a luxury, high-end hotel. Montreal is one of my favourite cities to visit, and I expected my stay at the Sofitel to be a fine complement to this. Hover, I was extremely disappointed and frustrated with the service and facilities at this self-styled "high end" hotel. As soon as I arrived, I found the mini-bar fully stocked, with no room for the medication I needed to refrigerate in it. I was told that there would be an extra charge for another fridge, something I have never encountered before. On my first night, the room temperature rose and fell, and when I attempted to change it there was a notice to consult the room manual, which was nowhere to be found. It was impossible for me to retrieve a message from the front desk which I assume was regarding the issues I was having on the in-room telephone. When I was able to call the front desk about this, again I received no assistance. Everything that could possibly be charged extra for guests was done, which I suppose is what a "luxury hotel" means? The coffee maker resembled a woman's purse or a "boom box" and was impossible to operate, again no instructions provided. When I checked out I had a brief and very unsatisfactory discussion with the hotel manager, who not only took no responsibility for my issues but did not offer any compensation, or even an apology. All in all, very disappointing.
