Behrang, Our Deluxe rooms on the 5th floor are an impressive sight, with their 18 foot ceilings and cattle wire chandeliers. These rooms used to be administrative offices for the L&N Railway, and are some of my favorite rooms at the hotel. Thanks for staying! ~Chris

Great birthday weekend

Posted Aug 5, 2017 on Hotels
this was a stay for a milestone birthday with family joining us for a couple of days. We loved staying here -- in fact in 1917, 100 years ago, my father traveled thru this station to join the Navy for WWI. I related this to the front-desk personnel and that it was a birthday celebration and they had the sweetest note and goodies in my room for me!!! Thanks, Union Station, for the remembrance and for offering me the chance to walk where my father trod 100 years ago

Disappointing and overpriced

Posted Aug 5, 2017
The only positive comment I can offer is the hotel is truly beautiful. However this does not make the cost per night acceptable. Every thing besides the room itself is considered extra and you're charged an additional fee such as wifi and valet parking. The valet parking is $40 + tax. I paid $44 for someone to move my car about 20 feet to an empty spot. I was told valet service was available 24 hours but when I needed my car there was no one available. The beds are very uncomfortable and the sheets had been slept on prior to our arrival. All elevators but one were out of order. In summary this was just a disappointing stay. Downtown Nashville has much better options.

Extra special hotel and staff!

Posted Aug 3, 2017 on Hotels
Five nights at the Union Station Hotel set the perfect tone for an incredible Nashville vacation! The Hotel itself is steeped in history with original carved wood features and stone statues/ engravings; combined with an outstanding renovation that stands on its own (if being in an historic building is not significant to you)! Each of the 125 rooms is unique and ours was perfect for my sister and me! There was just enough "Nashville" in the room without it being honky-tonk strange! The room appointments were luxurious, the room was large, meticulously clean and we felt like we were the first to stay in the room (i.e. no wear and tear)! Saving the best for last: the hotel staff was extraordinary! Chris (the reservation manager), with whom I first spoke via phone, immediately understood the type of vacation we wanted (we were celebrating a birthday) full of good music, good food and convenient access to everything. Chris knew where we should go, which tickets to buy in advance and what to avoid (too touristy). When we arrived at the hotel, the rest of the staff proved to be very resourceful and as infectiously enthusiastic about Nashville as Chris...last minute restaurant choices, best transportation modes and other details were handled seemingly effortlessly. (BTW: I don't usually take the time to review hotels, but feel compelled because of the excellence of this hotel!)

Nancy, It was a sincere pleasure hosting you and your sister for her birthday celebration weekend! I am so pleased to hear that everything went so perfectly, and truly appreciate the kind words you shared in regards to our team. Every room in our building is indeed unique and part of what we strive to achieve is find the right room to match each and every guest who stays with us. We are very pleased to hear that the room we selected worked so well for your weekend. I am looking forward to the opportunity to welcome you back to Nashville again soon! At your service, ~Chris

Well placed just up the road from the honky-tonks

The building, a converted train station, is spectacular. The sleeping room was large, with a quite large bathroom. Given its past life, the hotel is right next to an active rail line so light sleepers may want to consider that. Far enough away (8 blocks or so) to be just outside of the busy entertainment district but close enough to get there by foot. Only disappointment was a lack of a concierge desk, a surprising omission for a property clearly aiming for an upscale experience.

Thank you Alan for your review of our train station turned hotel! Our hotel does not have a specified Concierge Level, but our Guest Services team is both Front Desk and Concierge and is happy to assist with any requests or need you may have! ~Chris
