Posted Apr 19, 2018in general we were not happy with the Chateau Laurier.
We have stayed in several Fairmonts and this was by far the worst.
The lobby is darkly lit. It gives a very drab appearance. Our main aim was to leat out of the whole lobby atmosphere as quickly as possible.
We upgraded to a larger "Deluxe" room. Room size was nice.
The robes in the room were an embarassement . They were torn and very tattered.

Old School Style and Service
Posted Apr 5, 2018We went for the Gold level rooms and it was fantastic. Separate concierge for check in and out. They gave us a late check out and let us stay in the lounge til our train left. The private lounge complimentary appetizers and breakfast were incredible! Room very comfortable and clean. Friendly staff. Exceptional customer service and a little piece of history. Pricey but worth it.

Posted Apr 1, 2018Nice old building from outside and OLD from inside! Old with the dust almost everywhere, with soul of the time... My filling- expensive apartment building☹ with cleaning once a week... Maximum 4 stars and should cost match less. For this price you don't have even bottle of drinking water in the room(they asking 10$ for bottle!) Disappointing!

First Class Experience
Posted Mar 30, 2018From the moment we entered, we knew we were in for an excellent experience. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The valet attendants were welcoming and the front desk provided us with lots of information and an upgrade. The lovely man behind the desk made us feel very special. Our room had a remarkable view of the Parliament buildings and was bright, totally renovated and very large. We had a sitting area and two bathrooms. The king bed was rediciculously comfortable. The integrity of the Hotel and it’s history had been maintained and we felt like we were back in Paris. From the old elevators to the artful woodworking the hotel was perfect. We cannot wait to return.

Avareage Room.
Posted Mar 24, 2018The Room was very small, the TV was on the left side of the bed so I should sleepi to left to watch the TV. I paid 25 dollar plus tax for a movie but it was stopped thirty times because the system was not fast enough.
They charged me 9 dollar for a bottle of water and 50 dollar for parking and when I ask them to bring my car they forgot and I was waiting for my car for 45 minute then when I ask them where is my car they said that they forgot and I had to wait another 15 minute to get it.
Staff were very polite but hotel was very outdated and avareage.
The hot tub was a cheap plastic that when I wanted to use it it was bending .
I was expecting more for the price.
