Weekend stay with the boys

Posted Feb 7, 2017 on Hotels
Stayed at Hotel Indigo Feb 2-5/17. Used to go to university in Ottawa, so me and the guys had gone back up to visit friends. This was my first time staying at this particular hotel. It is very conveniently located downtown and is within a short walking distance to Parliament, War Memorial and other attractions. The area has a wide variety of dining options and is close to the Byward Market for those looking to take in the bar scene. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, putting up with a group of guys who were drinking all weekend. The pool area was nice, but was a little dated and could use a reno. The parking is underground and shared with the Marriott next door. I thought the parking was a little over priced, being roughly $23/day with tax. You are already paying a premium (for a small room) to stay right downtown so at least they could ease up the parking prices. Also, there was not a mini fridge in our room so if your down for the weekend you'll have to figure out another way to keep drink/snacks cool. All in all we had a positive experience staying here due to the friendly and accommodating staff, excellent location and clean rooms. This hotel was cheaper than others in the area and is a good option for people looking to spend a weekend in Ottawa close to the major attractions.

Nice Hotel. Friendly staff.

Posted Feb 6, 2017
Pros: Proximity to everything downtown. Nice little restaurant/bar just off main lobby. Please note:
Cons: Lobby was under construction during our stay. Hotel is going through a re-fresh and will soon change its name to Hotel Metcalf.
Visited Ottawa for Winterlude. Great location only steps away from ice sculpture area and Rideau Canal.

Although the lobby is under construction the rest of the hotel was very nice. The restaurant/bar was convenient and the portions very good.

Nice and urban hotel

Posted Dec 12, 2016
Pros: Decor, location and confort
Cons: the pillows
Location: you are a block away from Parliament Hill and Sparks Street with its pubs, restaurants and shopping. Walking distance to Rideau Center.
The location of this hotel is excellent. There is a variety of restaurants, pubs, shopping available in a walking distance. The facility is modern, uptodate, and clean. The rooms are icely decorated, the bed is comfortable, temperature is good. Pillows could be upgraded but overall, it is a great place. The only downfall is since it is open to above, it get a bit noisy if you are in the rooms facing the open area.
