Dog friendly?

Posted Oct 17, 2017
Yay! For allowing dogs but if you are going to charge a $45 pet fee, then please provide pet bowls for water and food, or a snack, or bed, or something that doesn't just scream 'I'm taking your money!' Aside from that, bed was comfy, shower spacious, and location convenient. Went there to escape NorCal fires but woke up to smell of smoke as building across street was on fire. #noescapefromfiresmell.

Thank you both for staying with us (woof, woof, ruff…google translate has a hard time with doggie). Thank you for providing your feedback to us, it truly allows us to measure how we are doing and fine tune our experience. I am very sorry to hear that Pippa did not get her bed, bowls or treats and she was kept awake by noises which absolutely could have been avoided. Much like our 2-legged guests, we are very attune to the preferences of our 4-legged guests and as such I have noted Pippa’s noise preferences so that next time we will do better for her. Though the pet fee is for the extra cleaning we perform, any hotel that takes the time to remember your four-legged companions name, has a complimentary amenity for said companion, absolutely should be able to deliver the amenity so they can enjoy their time with us as well. That we failed in this is regrettable but we will do better next time for yourself and Pippa. Lastly, I can only imagine how frustrating it would be to try and escape from the horrible fires that persist in CA, only to have a building fire across the street the very same time as you are here. I can assure you this is a one-time situation and while we cannot control it, you should not expect this for any future stays with us. I do hope that you both will see fit to give us another chance to show you what a stay at the Dossier can be.

Dishonesty

Posted Oct 10, 2017
This hotel charged $70 in extra fees for a 3 day stay in the form of a "facilities fee". They don't even have a pool or spa?!? All the decorating and customer service in the world cannot make up for dishonest pricing. I don't care if you hide it in small print either. Never again Expedia and Dossier... Never again...

Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your experience and feedback. If I was on the receiving end of a fee I wasn’t alerted to I would feel the same. Unfortunately our system made an error which I have corrected, and returned to and sent you a separate folio showing this. Ultimately, we do have a facilities fee that is assessed on all reservations and while we don’t have a pool or sauna, we have many amenities that are complimentary and offered each day for guests like Shinola bike rentals, printing services, coffee each morning and happy-hour beverages each evening. Our intention is to make all guests aware of this and should you decide to give us another chance, you will find this posted on your reservation confirmation.

Perfect Location

Posted Oct 10, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Quiet the ventilation system
Great old building, beautiful interior. The room was very comfortable but the ventilation fan was loud enough to keep me awake as it was right next to the bed, covered it with a couple pillows. The edge of the bed was broken down on my side and kept wanting me on the floor. And to top it off, the valet neglected to get my small ice chest in the car when checking out. I called the hotel once I noticed it was missing and they agreed to mail the only piece of value, my starbucks insulated mug. The parking valet cost $45 plus the tip for my missing cooler.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, I am sorry there was a mistake with your cooler and while we cannot rectify that (except to get you your mug back) we will always take responsibility for our mistakes. I have corrected the charges that should not have been paid and hope that you will offer us another chance to show you a complete experience at the Dossier.

Great city hotel.

Posted Oct 8, 2017
Pros: Nicely decorated and not too large. The price was cheaper than a chain hotel that we stayed in Seattle.
Cons: It is perfect!
Location: Walked to great restaurants.
The Dossier Hotel is the perfect hotel. It has been recently renovated and the staff were wonderful. The hotel is centrally located in downtown Portland with easy walking to some great restaurants. It made our stay in Portland extra special. We wish that we could have a Dossier Hotel in every city we visit.

Centrally located. Staff were very pleasant. Nothing out of the ordinary. Parking not included (can pay approx 50$ per night to park here. Or park car on street or garages in the city)

Great location, friendly staff!

I went with my family of four and we all agreed that the hotel was very nice. Location couldn't have been better, within walking distance to all our restaurants we had bookmarked. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Nice decor in the hotel and bar downstairs for a glass of wine before bed. FYI hotel parking is pricey! But there are public parking conveniently located nearby with overnight stay. Staff always greet you and are very helpful. Overall exceptional experience!

The hotel is average at best

Posted Sep 27, 2017
I left some items behind and called the hotel the day I checked out. I was told by the hotel the items would be sent to me and then they told me they had no record of my items and they couldn't help me. I left numerous voicemails and sent numerous emails and no one ever responded to me... I had to call to find out they lost my things and I apparently have no recourse

Best hotel experience I have had ever

Posted Sep 27, 2017
Pros: Great location. Friendly staff. Clean. Upgraded & updated. Best hotel experience.
Cons: Nothing it was great!
Location: It is centrally located downtown. You can walk to most of the districts. Near one of the food truck areas & a ton of restaurants & shops.
I have never had a hotel experience like this one! The staff is the friendliest staff - its like they were trained at Nordstroms' headquarters. They are friendly & inviting every time you enter the building, they open doors for you, catch the elevator you, offer travel suggestions, etc. Great room with nice upgrades. Very quiet. Great location.

Perfect location and great staff.

Posted Sep 25, 2017
Pros: The location and cleanliness is fantastic.
Cons: The windows could be thicker to drown out the noise. We had a 10 floor room. The hotel provided earplug in the drawer next to the bed so that helped
Location: Mothers Restaurant is close and the Saturday Market was an interesting attraction.
The staff is incredibly accommodating and focused on the guest and strive to make sure you're having a good experience. The hotel is very clean and the bathroom is well appointed and had a great shower. We had breakfast at the Opel restaurant and the breakfast burrito was awesome. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. We had outstanding service from Russell the Bellman. The room is a tad noisy due to it being in the heart of Portland and it being a weekend with lots of people outside still enjoying the fantastic weather. The artwork is interesting and the furniture seems modern and clean. If you're planning to go to Portland the Dossier is a great place to stay.
