Pros: That it is within walking distance from a lot of great spots to dine at as well as shop
Cons: The tub,it should be an actual tub that fits 2 people. If you do late check out, the staff should let the customer know that you have to rekey the card
Location: Departure, Nines, Urban Farmer Pioneer square- all close by.
We chose this hotel based on the tub (which the pictures online are deceiving) it states that its a deep soaking tub, it only fits one large person, not two. So we were disappointed that we didn't get to enjoy the tub together on our yearly date. Also we chose late check out, the staff said it wasn't a problem, then when we came back from breakfast at 12- went up to the 11th floor to find out my keys didn't work, had to go back to the lobby and wait, then was told oops sorry- I will redo your key and it should let you in. Kind of a hassle to me.

Lovely downtown hotel

Posted Nov 18, 2017
I had a corner king room—bedroom ample— but the bathroom! I have never seen such a luxurious and beautiful bathroom outside of a suite. Loved it! Wonderful bed too. We had a burned out lightbulb in a nightstand table lamp. They were there to replace it within minutes after we called. Great service. Will definitely stay here again.

Beware of facility fee

Posted Nov 13, 2017
I enjoyed staying at the Dossier Hotel very much. The hotel is well located and the room was comfortable. However, at checkout they added $23 a night to my bill for a "facilities fee." This was to cover the "complimentary coffee," the "complimentary cocktail," water in the lobby, and the gym, I was told by the desk staff. They might want to check the definition of "complimentary." So, the Expedia price I paid was for the room and the hotel charged me extra for everything outside the room. This extra charge really sullied the experience. I would much rather have had that 23$ included in the original price.

Dear Laura, Thank you so much for staying with us and for taking the time to share your feedback. It truly is the best measure of how we are doing as a hotel. I am very sorry to hear that we failed to offer you the complete level of service one should receive here at Dossier. Each failure we have allows us to assess how we can improve for yourself and future guests. The facility fee that your speaking of, allows us to not charge per usage for all the services you mentioned. Some hotels, in addition to higher rates, charge for WIFI and lobby coffee/cocktails or their fitness facility access; we opted for a small fee instead. I am sorry if this wasn't your preference. I do hope you can give us another opportunity to serve you again in the future.

Nice hotel centrally located in downtown area

Posted Nov 12, 2017
Pros: Quiet, quaint lobby...24 hour food service, and music piping from the adjoining restaurant. Staff brought in portable frig. Pet friendly
Cons: Air vent could be directed to not blow at the head of the bed. I prob can't picture young active children, teens, partying young adults at Dossier
Location: shopping, farmers market, Art Museum, theatre, movie theatre numerous food choices within walking distance, pub transit closeby
EVERY DOSSIER ASSOCIATE has been well educated or has skills in customer service...everyone smiled, said pleasantries and seemed to enjoy their position. Enjoyed conversation with the day restaurant manager and host. I felt very welcome and VIP status.(unlike my visit two weeks prior at another hotel two blocks away...it only takes one person to ruin your impression and give the establishment a bad reputation) A big plus having a separate bathtub to soak in. The adjoining blocks were all being renovated and there wasn't really a view from the lower floors since you are in the heart of downtown....but that wasn't an important criteria for me.

Hotel Dossier is in Downtown Portland.

This Hotel is perfect for people who love to walk. Staff is wonderful, always welcoming. Rooms are perfect with a very comfortable bed even thou our room did not have a dresser. The was spotless. To top it of, the view was of Mt.Hood. Wonderful. We would definitely recommend this hotel to travelers with walking difficulties.

Comfortable beds and close to everything downtown

Posted Oct 30, 2017
Pros: right in downtown, close to everything, easy transportation
The hotel was easy to find; the staff very helpful and pleasant. However, the charge for resort fees leaves a bad taste for our stay. I rather they increase the nightly rate than to charge for amenities which they don't have a lot to start with (no pool), and other amenities which guests do not normally use; e.g. free bike rentals. Complimentary drinks at cocktails hour is a nice touch, but not every guest can make it back from their day to take advantage.

perdwct weekend in Portland

Posted Oct 30, 2017
First time visit to Portland, this hotel is the perfect location. Just steps away from shopping, max light rail, great restaurants. Loved that a smaller version food truck city was just a half block away for a meal or snack. Powell's books was also an easy 5 min walk from the hotel. Loved the hotel's complimentary cocktail hour!

Great Hotel .. BUT

Posted Oct 29, 2017
Great staff who was very helpful and always pleasent. Location downtown is also great .. there is a target close by and also food trucks. 12th Ave which is a few blocks away has many restaurants. BUT .. the only thing I didn't like was .. the hotel was already expensive when booked through Expedia .. they didn't tell me there would still be an additional charge on check-out .. I was charged $20 USD per night as Service fees which I found to be just a money grab.

I am sorry that you were surprised by any extra charges on your statement, we make sure they are posted across all booking websites, however some sites do not show them in the best way, which is why we always recommend reserving directly with the hotel. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and hope that we have the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

Cons: I'd take a free breakfast... :)
Loved everything about this hotel. Rooms were very clean and the beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Staff extremely helpful and kind. Location was perfection. Walk anywhere.
