I payed for a total of 4 guests and they would not give us more than 2 towels at a time. I asked for ice and they told me to go buy some.

Need extra card to leave in electricity while gone for the day. Also make sure you get a room with a patio

Had fam from the Carnival cruise and the staff did not let them in the Hotel at all. Visiting for couple hours with the heat they brought presents for us and they said no. Ridiculous they came on the Carnival Cruise!!!

Hotel Refuses to give a refund for 3 days

We had a 4 day reservation from 5/28 to 5/31. We had to check out after the 1st night due to an extremely hard bed. I recently had knee surgery and the bed was rock hard. Hurt the knee when I would onto my stomach because I felt like I was sleeping on a bed of cement. Both beds in also squeaked when you moved. My brother and I did not sleep well all night. We went downstairs in the morning to ask if we could get another room and the girl at the counter was very rude. Refused our request to move to another room. I explained about my knee surgery and she could plainly see I was in pain and walked with a cane. She stated their were no rooms available, all rooms were reserved. I asked if we could have one of the reserved rooms and the person checking in later could have our room. She smirked and said that could not be done. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said no one was available. I asked the manager's name and she did not want to give it to me. Finally she gave me his name. After all of this we decided to move to Hotel Rosita and I asked for a refund of the remaining 3 nights that we had paid for . She told me she could not refund my money. I asked why and she could not give me a reason. I have called the hotel several times to speak to the manager and he is never available. At this point they still owe me 3 paid days which we did not utilize due to the hard beds. The girls behind the counter are ALWAYS on their cell phones and talking to friends

Great hotel right in Downtown Vallarta!

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, great location, easy check in/check out.
Location: Walking distance to Malecon, beaches, great restaurants, and tons of shopping. Quick taxi ride to the marina and airport!
I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Portonovo! I got an amazing deal for an entire week and felt like the value was excellent! It is in a perfect location if you just want to be able to walk everywhere. Extremely close to the airport, marina, beaches, shopping.I would definitely stay here again!

Average, noisy hotel close to Malecon

The check in process was easy and the front office staff were nice. The room was clean except for a handprint on one of the headboards. They only give you one key and it is what activates the electricity in the room. Because there is no power, they don't keep the A/C running, so the room was very hot. We were on a busy street and it was extremely noisy. At one point I checked to see if the windows were open because the noise level was so high. Hotel is an easy walk to the Malecon. After dinner, dancing and a lot of drinks, we stumbled back to our hot room, turned on the A/C and it was so loud!! I was able to sleep about 5 hours but could not fall back to sleep because of the noise. It was not a restful night. The buffet is average, at best.

Good place to stay

It was a nice stay overall, clean, good effort of the staff to keep you happy, there was a small issue with our tv and they resolved it quickly. Definitely I'd stay at this hotel again Thanks!

Great stay in Puerto Vallarta

This is the third time I've stayed at this hotel and the experience was good once again. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast is included and there was always a basic selection of items to choose from such as fruit, youghurt, scrambled eggs, breads, sweets, and traditional Mexican breakfast foods. The hotel is conveniently located to the malecon and not far from zona romantica. The only downside is that the rooms are tiny but honestly who comes to Puerto Vallarta to spend all their time in the hotel room? You can't beat the value for the price you pay an I have never had any negative experiences at this property. One last thing.....the ladies working in the breakfast room were so pleasant and had our cups of coffee poured as soon as we sat down at the table. The housekeeper we had was so accommodating to our schedule and always made sure the room was replenished with soaps, shampoos, and bottled water every day. Thanks again for a wonderfully stay!!! We will be back!!!!
