Shouldn’t charge that much

Posted Feb 24, 2018
The room is too small for 400+ a night, and there is no bathtub! Too much noise at night couldn’t sleep well.... And, the tablecloth WET when we had brunch next morning, that’s horrible. But hotel staffs are very kind.

Luxurious

Posted Feb 10, 2018
A beautiful hotel with one of the top 10 restaurants in the US. The room was beautifully decorated. I recommend the lamb and Chilean sea bass in the Grant Grill.

Great location, even better staff!

Posted Jan 16, 2018
Staff was execellent and went above and beyond in providing great customer service. This was our first time traveling with our 1 year old and although the hotel is not geared towards children or toddlers, they went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. Everyone was friendly, professional and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. The hotel restaurant and bar had very good food, great service and the bartender took pride in ensuring each drink he served was made with attention to detail. The room was average size, updated and comfortable. The king bed was th best! We will not hesitate to book here again.

Lovely hotel - light sleepers have a hard time

Posted Jan 15, 2018
Pros: The decor, the bed, the upscale atmosphere.
Cons: Please replace the windows, get double pane glass! Could not sleep well throughout my whole stay.
Location: We took a "jump on and off tour" went to Coronado (a must go) and learned more about Rabbitville! We also went to Balboa park it was lovely.
Let me start off by saying, this hotel is beautiful. My wife and I had a great time, the staff was helpful and pleasant. The accommodations were pretty glamorous and comfortable. The only thing that I had a hard time with was sleeping. If they replace those windows with double pane glass I think this experience would reach even greater heights. As most of you know this hotel sits right on busy broadway. We stayed their for 2 nights, and both nights I was woken up to either loud music of cars at a stop light, or the police/fireman sirens going off. I am a light sleeper, so these loud noises did not allow me to sleep well, I was exhausted. Seriously I hope the US grant, invests some money into replacing these windows, it would add so much to people like me.

Greetings Erick, Thank you for your great review of our hotel and your recent stay. We are thrilled to know you loved the décor, staff and upscale atmosphere. I'm sorry to hear that you did not get a good nights rest during your visit because of the outside noise. Regretfully, our hotel is protected as Historic Landmark to the city of San Diego, therefore we are unable to make any changes to the exterior of the building such as changing out the windows. We wish this was something in our control too. We do hope you'll visit us again and perhaps try one of our rooms that faces Banker's Hill and is away from the busy Broadway avenue.

Amazing Hotel !!!!! Can’t wait to go back

Posted Jan 10, 2018
I have stayed at some of the best hotels in the world and I would put the US Grant ahead of any one of them. The room was bright and well furnished. The beds, pillows and comforters were amazingly comfortable, easily one of the most comfortable beds In which I have slept. Rarely would I mention a shower however in this case the shower was as amazing as the beds. The hotel restaurant was impressive with an extensive wine list and the cuisine was deserving of a Michelin star or two. One bad thing, get ready to pay five star parking at a five-star hotel. In the scheme of things however, it’s a small Inconvenience.

Good location

Posted Jan 8, 2018
Pros: Location
Cons: Free wifi and a mini bar. You have to really look for the amenities. No pool. No vibe.
Location: Close to Gaslamp district and transit. Easy to walk to anywhere from the hotel. Concierge staff were very friendly but only suggested touristy stuff
Other than location, this hotel leaves much to be desired. Nothing to set it apart from any other hotel. No mini bar, wifi was $10 a day.
