Beautiful hotel. Beds were small though.

Cosme out for just one night. Very nice. Restaurant and bar in hotel. Very not e if you don’t want to venture out into the city. Beautiful architecture.

Beautiful Hotel in a Great Down Town Location

The staff were friendly and the hotel was beautiful. The roof top pool and hot tub was a great addition as well. This hotel is located downtown near gaslamp, shopping, petco park, and seaport village (all within easy walking distance). I will definitely stay here again the next time I’m in San Diego.

The Westgate is a gem!

I am a San Diego local and I frequent The Westgate regularly for it's excellent lineup of music, gatherings and holiday events. I also stay over for many occasions so as to truly enjoy all there is about this beautiful hotel. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and have amazing views with a gracious a fully opening sliding glass window to let in the San Diego air and buzz. The decor is stunning and the cuisine is fabulous. A very rich and warm experience always. You can only appreciate it once you've experienced it.

Visiting daughter on Thanksgiving

Very nice hotel steeped with French and English decor . Very palacial and grand. Hotel is situated in an ideal part of downtown SD in the Gaslamp area. Staff helpful and pleasant natured. Watched the staff finish decorate their beautiful Christmas tree which compliments the hotel and surrounds. Rooms are comfortable and spacious although tea and coffee making facilities are poor and dated (small coffee percolator ) which made one cup at a time but wasn’t boiled. Beware tea drinkers you may suffer! Adjoining fitness centre with roof top pool and gym are of a high standard . Enjoyed the rooftop athletics track. Had breakfast buffet on one morning $19.95 which again was very pleasant and served with charm attentiveness of the staff . Went to LAfor the weekend before returning. Hotel kept hold of our main luggage and on our last day reserved a late check out 2 pm . Overall very nice hotel .

Nice hotel

Pros: Staff, rooms and food
Cons: Very little. Deserves more customers
Location: You want a car to get to most places but that is true of San Diego generally
Surprisingly god hotel, Rooms, staff and food all well above average. The location isn't superb but it is in walking distance of the Midway.

Great Hotel. Can't go wrong.

Location was great, walking distance from Gaslamp District. Hotel staff was courteous and gave a great breakfast recommendation. Rooms were huge, it felt like we had a suite with a normal king room.

Perfect location

Pros: We had a beautiful quiet room. The concierge was a wonderful help with great tour and restaurant suggestions.
Cons: We would suggest a new mattress in our room. Huge indentations on both sides.
Easy walk to Seaport, restaurants, nightlife, Little Italy, trolley and train

My stay at west gate

It was a very pleasant stay. I’m particular impressed by their staffs warm, well-trained and professionalism; the facility is well- maintained. The gym is outstanding, enjoyed working there.

Great resort for tourists.

The hotel offers old school glitz and glamor in the heart of the gaslamp district.. Near shopping and active nightlife. Be aware there is an additional fee for access to facilities of $20..00 and parking is $40.00 per night. . Also right near train stop , so it's very noisy. Don't expect a peaceful night sleep.
