Served its purpose

Posted Jun 15, 2017 on Hotels
These condos are in a VERY nice area. We requested one off the main road because of noise, as another reviewer recommended, but because of that, we didn't have much of a view. We were relatively close to everything, but parking was limited and tight. I saw a few small bugs, nothing serious. The refrigerator had water and ice in the door, but the icemaker was turned off. I turned it on and expected ice in the morning, but nothing. When I tried the water, nothing. So I called the office and they said a maintenance worker would be by around 10 a.m. I asked if perhaps the water to the fridge had been turned off. He said they wouldn't do that. We were leaving for a hike, thought it would be taken care of when we got back. Nothing. I called again, and they said maintenance had been very busy but would be by shortly. He finally came by, pulled the fridge out and said the water wasn't connected! He couldn't connect it without the owners order. So, I looked through the cabinets and found ice cube trays. If they had just told me this from the beginning, it wouldn't have been an issue. This was unit #25! Also, doors were sticky, deck a little shaky, 2nd bathroom shower door leaked.

Problems.

Posted Jun 15, 2017
#57 was pleasant, Andrew and Housekeeping were not. Constant issues over housekeeping: lack of organization and cleanliness was missing. Andrew was apathetic and while he said he would provide a credit at the end of our stay for the problems, upon check out, he hid behind his phone and wouldn't talk to us. Disappointing.

Good place for visiting Santa Fe,

Posted Jun 10, 2017 on Hotels
The two bedroom suite with kitchen and living space was perfect for a two night stay with our grand daughters. Room was, clean and comfortable. The location was far enough from town center to be quiet but close enough to walk to major shopping and cafes. We will likely book again.

Nice option for larger groups/families

Posted Jun 7, 2017 on Orbitz
We had a hard time finding a hotel close to the plaza that had 2 beds for a reasonable price. Which is why we ended up choosing this hotel. We liked our condo. It was furnished very nicely and was clean. Quite charming. (Some of the counters could have been cleaned better but besides that it was quite clean.) There were 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. Large living room/kitchen area. It actually was a little more than we needed. Views are gorgeous. It's at the top of a hill next to the old Fort Marcy historic site. Very nice view from our balcony. Not all rooms will have views. The only thing we didn't like is the walk from the hotel to the plaza. The sidewalks are uneven (and have stairs, etc) that makes using a stroller difficult. I wasn't expecting that. The walk back to the hotel is uphill. Not a deal breaker but not great with kids/stroller. There's no daily housekeeping. They will refresh towels if asked. Fireplace in living room. Overall I think it was a good deal and good for families who need more space. Would stay here again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us about your stay at Fort Marcy. Your feed back is critical to our continued success. Your opinion that Fort Marcy is perfect for families and couples staying together is right on. You cant beat the price for the space anywhere else when trying to stay near all the action downtown.

Lukewarm...pun intended

Posted Jun 7, 2017 on Hotels
We expected more from the photos, but perhaps the single room condos aren't as nice as the double rooms. They give you an informational reader at checkout which clearly states they have a pool and hot tub. We were excited to soak in a hot tub after a long trip to get there, but the reader was incorrect. It didn't exist. When we asked about it, they just said no, we don't have one. Then take it out of your flier! We stayed in unit #11. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were awful. I recommend bringing your own. The shower was the worst part. Barely any pressure, and the hot water is a joke. Finally, I decided to take a bath the next time. It took a very long time to fill the tub even less than halfway up and again, the hot water ran out. That's unacceptable for the money you pay. Also, don't try cooking on the stovetop unless you're okay with the entire unit filling up with cooking smells and staying that way. We tried to open all windows, but one of the larger ones in the living room was broken. There's very little ventilation. Overall, we made the best out of it all and had a good time in Santa Fe, but we would not stay here again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your intimate thoughts about the unit you stayed in. By giving us some exact feedback we will be able to go into that room and make all the corrections necessary to ensure our future guests do not have the same experience. I am happy to announce we should have the new hot tub in place in time for the next winter season.

Old and in need of repair

Posted Jun 6, 2017
Hotel needs a definite update. Paint needs to be refreshed. Replace the lightbulbs. And improve patio furniture. Location was acceptable. However, need to be in good shape to climb the uneven stairs and up the hill from town.

Spacious quiet and great value

Posted Jun 5, 2017
Pros: Spacious suite in a quiet location, fully eqipped kitchen. A helpful staff. Hotel is located appr. 10 mins walk from downtown.
Cons: Very friendly and helpful staff, but with one person on duty, it can take time to be served. Due hotel layout, additional signs needed to main office
Location: A 10 min walk to downtown, and it's uphill coming back. Lots of attractions downtown, museums, galleries, cathedral. Recommend historic walking tour
A spacious suite with all amenities. Quiet location and helpful staff
