Downtown Santo Domingo Vacations from $640

Had to change room 2 times. First room was not the one I paid for, second room had a ridiculous amount of bugs in it, and the guy at the front desk named Jow was extremely rude.

NOT 420 Friendly!! The pool temperature was disgustingly hot! I understand it’s July, but the pool water was as hot as the hot tub. The lagoon water had jellyfish. I’m familiar with other resorts and travel months and they have been cooler and refreshing! When you arrive you’re forced to make dinner reservations for your entire trip if you want to go to one of the restaurants. Because of this limitation we gave 4 stars in the hotel lobby kiosk. AND SOME OF THEM THEY HAVE KIDS AT THEM! The very next morning- they woke us up with a call asking how to get that 5th star?? The entertainment was so so. They did a disco night and none of the entertainment team knew how to dance it; however, they had the Dance Fever motion down. Spanish is the language. Very few people speak English.

Pros: the resort is beautiful! All staff were polite, professional and friendly. The gym was great. Their spa was amazing. Room was spacious and clean. Enjoyed the coffee cafe, had really tasty cappuccino there. The buffet had plenty of food and loved the variety. The ox tails were simply divine! Also love how the Dominican people enjoy their own resorts. They were right along side of us, it was a pleasure getting to know them. Cons: if you check in on the weekend, it’s chaotic. We were rushed and hurried. We weren’t told about the tv QR code that gives more information about the resort. The buffet was good on weekend when busy but not so much during the week. Bread and pastries were dry and recycled. Beach became full of sargassum. But the worst is the rolling blackouts. All throughout our stay the electricity kept going on and off anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. It got pretty annoying, especially while showering or working out at the gym. The blackouts are why I have to give 3 stars. My first time in DR. The resort is nice but I probably won’t return when I go back. It’s pretty far from everything as well. We spent a lot of money on transportation to explore Santo Domingo.

This property was likely very beautiful many years ago when it first opened and the highlight photos were taken but it has clearly been neglected for some time. Neither the rooms nor the property were as clean and sufficiently stocked with necessities as I would expect. The beds were not comfortable, WiFi was spotty, and linens seemed old and lacking freshness. The only upsides were the ac worked well and the few staff members we encountered tried to be helpful. If you do still decide to stay here and you want to order food for children, do not order the pizza. You will be disappointed. Other food options were okay. Thankfully, we only stayed one night. My family and I were very disappointed so I want to make sure future Expedia users know what they’re getting into. Expedia should require property hosts to post photos within the last year or two.

It’s a bait and switch the address is not where the location is and the rooms shown are not available. It’s still under construction and has regular black outs. Next to a cemetery. Do not stay here pictures not as shown. AGAIN DO NOT STAY HERE BAIT AND SWITCH NOT AS ADVERTISE. And Expedia nor the hotel will compensate.
