Great Atmosphere, 1950's Theme

Posted Sep 16, 2017
Pros: Friendly helpful staff, quiet, free newspaper, comfortable beds w/top quality linens
Location: Downtown Seatle, historic buildings, close to Markets, wharf, restaurants, pubs,
Like a step back in time, the decor takes you back in time to the 1950's. Even had "Ratpack" music playing in our room when we arrived. Happy hour in the lobby each day at 5 with free wine & snacks by the fireplace. Great staff, and fantastic restaurant on the main floor.

A quaint place in a great location.

In a world of bland, safe hotels and motel styles; El Gaucho was a vibrant and stylish breath of fresh air. My room was spacious for my needs. The amenities offered were top notch. But even better was EG's location. An easy stroll to the Needle as well as Pike Street Market.

Great hotel, centally located

Posted Aug 28, 2017
Pros: It was located in the middle of the area we wanted to explore.
Cons: A passenger elevator would make this hotel perfect.
Location: Space Needle, Museums, Gardens, Pike's Market, Waterfront.
This hotel does not have an elevator. That being said, I still highly recommend it. There is a freight elevator that will bring your luggage upstairs. All of the hotel rooms are on one level so there is only 1 flight of stairs to manage. David was at the desk on our arrival. He gave us great suggestions on seeing Seattle. We walked to the Space Needle, took the monorail to WestShore Station and then walked to Pikes Market. Easy walk back to the hotel. Our hotel room was very spacious. The amenities were top notch, even though we did not partake of the minibar beverages or snacks. Happy hour wine and snacks and coffee, tea, water was always available in the lobby. Bedding was so comfortable and we both had a great night sleep.

Nice, helpful staff. Great food at the restaurant. Very retro, 1950's.

I wish I could give this hotel 10 stars!

Posted Jul 8, 2017
Pros: Location, staff, room
Cons: Not a blessed thing
Location: Walking distance to Pike Place Market, the waterfront, and the Space Needle
This was our first time in Seattle, and I had looked for a hotel that was affordable, comfortable, and centrally located. The Inn at El Gaucho hit the mark on all three. Situated over the El Gaucho restaurant, an old-school steak house, the Inn was beautifully decorated and within walking distance to Pike Place Market and the Space Needle. The neighbourhood is quiet, with small shops and restaurants everywhere. Lee, who manned the front desk on our arrival, was welcoming, and full of ideas of how to spend our time in Seattle. Before we went down to dinner, she offered us wine and snacks, and when we came back, there were fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, tea, and coffee. She made our stay! You absolutely cannot go wrong if you stay at The Inn at El Gaucho.

Terrible customer service

Posted Jul 7, 2017
When reserving this very expensive room, I anticipated high a few night at a high end establishment. To start off the stay we had to climb numerous stairs to get to the second floor (not realizing there is not elevator. The room was ok ( no better then chain hotels which are a lot cheeper) the biggest disappointment would have to be their terrible customer service. Numerous (but not all) people at the front desk were rude, when they offered complimentary transport to area within the vicinity it seemed like a big plus but after 3 times of asking of we could get a ride to the hospital because the person I was with being sick and no return call,I'd sy this is also less then stellar. It is in a glod location minus the low income housing next door with people begging out front. I hope this helps someone who reads this to not make the mistake of wasting their money on the El Gaucho.

Great location!

Posted Jun 30, 2017
Pros: Location, the staff, the room
Cons: Not a single thing
Location: Space Needle, Pike Place Market, the Seattle waterfront.
This was our first time in Seattle, and I was looking for a special hotel. I certainly found it in the Inn at El Gaucho. It was in a great location, walking distance to the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, and public transit. The neighborhood was near the waterfront, and had great restaurants, bars, and shops. Every single person we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Kudos to Lee, who patiently answered our questions, offered suggestions for things to do in our off times, and provided the perfect environment for our stay. The next time we are in Seattle, we will definitely choose the Inn at El Gaucho. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The Inn is IT!

I was pleasantly surprised at the El Gaucho. You do walk up stairs, but the hotel is super cozy. The rooms were so nice and spacious. There are robes in the room so you really feel right at home. What really put them over the top for me was the hand written thank you note they put in my room. I have NEVER received that from a hotel ever. The hotel is also super close to a ton of sights. You can walk to most of them. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent. On a side note, an elevator might help people with Knee problems. But we had a great time with the excellent hospitality. Thanks
