Made it Right!

Pros: Very eager to compensate for bad check in experience.
Cons: Having a experienced clerk with a a trainee.
Location: It is downtown, walking distance to lots of nightlife, shops and restaurants.
Check-in started horribly with my credit card being refused(as a result of clerk 9trainee) not inputting properly) causing check-in to take about a half an hour and having to use a different card. As a result I was given a complimentary breakfast and a small discount when checking out. Room was nice and comfortable with a nice view of the harbour. A couple of bottles of free water next to one that cost $3.75. Fairly new furniture, bedding and towels. I think the carpet was new I believe as my wife found a staple with her foot! Parking was good, staff was friendly, breakfast was good( nice buffet selection).

Pros: Proximity to points of interest and availability of parking.
Cons: A fair amount... Best to read review.
Property is tired and needs modernizing to the higher of Sheraton standards. Not sure it does at this stage. Linens poor and uncomfortable. Club room provided to us with circular window, was tiny and dark with A/C unit so close to bed and noisy that it could not be used at sleep. This was not the room requested on Expedia. Our unit was tucked into corner, with neighbours door on top of ours. Appeared not all elevators working, as there was always a wait. Waited for hot water during late afternoon periods. Housekeeping missed our room when we returned at 4:30... Waited an hour in club room until ready. Staff friendly.

I was saddened to read about your recent stay. The hotel recently finished a 5 year program of completely refurbishing the hotel and the room you were given is as stated. The elevators are in full working order and I can only apologize for the overall experience you encountered. Excellent Staff!

Pros: Staff, location and very comfortable bed
Cons: add a microwave
Location: Downtown, close to harbour, close to many restaurants, close to Signal Hill
Special thank you to the manager for being so accommodating and rectifying the issues we had right away.. The rest of the amazing staff were also very friendly and professional. A special thank you to Jillian and the others at the Club lounge....they were absolutely amazing! They treated as like family....that was unexpected. My only suggestion would be to add a microwave to the room. Having the mini fridge was great, but a small microwave would really be great for popcorn and warming up left over take out. Great location and great staff....what else can I say!

Great Hotel -

Pros: Location excellent - very clean and comfortable -
Cons: Nothing for me -
Location: Location-excellent - little traffic - 15 minutes from the airport - about a two minute walk to a variety of restaurants and shopping
Staff (All staff) were very accommodating -They were always on hand for my questions, giving me the necessary directions to all of the places I had wished to visit and also suggesting some sights that I had not thought of visiting.

Pleasant Stay in St. John's

Pros: Proximity to St. John's.
Cons: Beds were not as comfortable as I would expect for a hotel of this calibre. Mattresses could have been firmer.
Location: Great location ... short drive from airport ... close to major restaurants and attractions.
The hotel is located close to attractions, restaurants and venues. An excellent place as a home base to explore St. John's and surrounding areas. Hotel staff is very courteous and professional ... rooms are clean and modern ... parking facilities are good ... gym and pool are modern ... lounge is good for drinks and snacks ... all at a reasonable price.

Pros: The room was great
Cons: Dont charge paying customers 15 dollars a night for parking
Location: Highly recommend the Duke of Ducksworth Great fish and chips!
Hotel was great. Most everything associated with the Hotel is expensive. 15 dollard a day to park is pretty steep for customers.

The air conditioner it was not working very well, it was really noisy; but the hotel is really well located and the food is great.

Nice Hotel

Arrived mid morning so early for check in. Was told my room was vacant awaiting cleaning so we left our luggage and went out for several hours and came back just before 3:00pm normal check in time. Room still not ready and was told I would be contacted when it was available. I asked for our wifi access since we knew the room number and was told I wasn't checked in so could not have it. I was provided with the generic guest access when I said we would be sitting in the lobby waiting. Many guests came and checked in while we continued to wait. After an hour, I asked again if our room was ready. I got an informational monologue on the fact that I had requested hypoallergenic linens and and scent free cleaning so it took as long as it took. We had been up since 03:00a.m., had a funeral to attend the following day so waiting almost 2 extra hours after checkin for the room felt punitive. The desk staff treated us like we were a nuisance.
